The Best Restaurants in Antibes

An ode to the Mediterranean and Provence, Antibes’ cuisine takes its guests on a journey both to the sea and into the hinterland. Discover six restaurants in Antibes that showcase the flavors of the French Riviera.

1. La Passagère, Hôtel Belles Rives

La Passagère, the one-star restaurant at Hôtel Belles Rives, first delights the eyes before tantalizing the taste buds. Its romantic terrace overlooks the sea, offering a view of the Lérins Islands enhanced by the orange hues of the setting sun, while its dining room—renovated by Olivier Antoine—reveals an Art Deco world featuring period frescoes, a beautiful mosaic floor, and ceramic pieces. The light, which filters gently through the large glass windows, is reflected by the restored chrome chandeliers and elegant mirrors.

Aurélien Véquaud showcases Mediterranean cuisine and subtly draws on his Vendée roots to elevate it. The chef has a masterful command of the region’s signature fish, such as mullet, liche, and rouffe, as well as seaweed and salicornia. A lovely young tuna with nasturtium and smoked fish bone vinegar is served alongside a roasted langoustine with elderflower, grapefruit, and broccoletti, and a potato enhanced with Valbonne goat cheese and wild garlic. On the dessert side, pastry chef Johann Kleiber is at the helm, offering sophisticated and light creations. His “myriads and stars”—composed of seven to nine bite-sized morsels—reveal flavors that are as fruity as they are briny, sometimes with sweet-and-sour notes that awaken the palate. Each dish is creative, generous, and refined, impeccably presented and paired with expertly selected wines.

2. Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit

Le Figuier de Saint-Esprit is not just another restaurant on the ramparts of Old Antibes. It’s a family-run establishment led by Chef Christian Morisset, who is joined by his sons in the kitchen and his wife in the dining room. Creative and deeply inspired by Provence, his dishes feature ultra-local ingredients sourced from nearby markets. To experience the full world of this dynamic team—which has earned a Michelin star—choose their two signature dishes: the saddle of lamb from the Alpilles cooked in Vallauris clay, gnocchi with squash and truffles, vegetables, and thyme-infused jus; and the cannelloni stuffed with baby squid and clams in cuttlefish ink, served with a shellfish jus infused with basil leaves.

3. Le Fab, La Villa Fabulite

Away from the hustle and bustle of Old Antibes, Le Fab thrives in a peaceful haven at the heart of La Villa Fabulite, a small, discreet hotel in Cap d’Antibes beloved by those in the know. Here, everything invites you to relax: a shaded terrace lined with bougainvillea, a garden filled with Mediterranean flora, a serene atmosphere enhanced by the song of cicadas and a gentle sea breeze. Far from the conventions of haute cuisine, yet with a true sense of taste and attention to detail, Le Fab offers simple, summery, and joyful cuisine, designed to delight without overdoing it.

The menu showcases Riviera classics with an elegant, fresh twist: linguine alle vongole cooked perfectly al dente, roasted jumbo shrimp served with fragrant rice and a sauté of crisp vegetables, or grilled gilthead sea bream accompanied by oyster mushrooms and golden cauliflower. The appetizers focus on lightness: a well-seasoned Greek salad, thinly sliced artichokes with shavings of Parmigiano, or a tuna tartare blended with beets and hazelnuts—as beautiful as it is delicious. For dessert, you’ll find summer classics—panna cotta with exotic fruits, crème brûlée, and lemon meringue tartlets—to end the meal on a sweet and comforting note.

4. Les Pêcheurs, Cap d'Antibes Beach Hotel

At the Cap d'Antibes Beach Hotel with a California vibe and a terrace overlooking the coast, Nicolas Rondelli reimagines the Mediterranean flavors he knows so well, having grown up in Nice. The culinary journey at the Michelin-starred Les Pêcheurs restaurant in Antibes begins with oysters from Tamaris Bay and red Mazara del Vallo gamberoni served sushi-style, before paying homage to the local catch. Back on land, diners can savor perfectly prepared lamb, marinated and grilled beef, and a rare squab breast. To round out the culinary journey, strawberries from Carros served with sheep’s milk curd from the Hautes-Alpes and a basil emulsion offer a true tricolor tribute to the terroir of the hinterland.

5. La Maison de Bacon

With a rooftop overlooking the sea and the addition of Victor’s apartment upstairs, La Maison de Bacon—formerly Le Bacon—has successfully reinvented itself without losing its historical heritage since 1948. Pagrus, sea bream, turbot, and blue lobster are grilled over a wood fire; pastas and risottos are reimagined with flavors of the French Riviera; and the must-try bouillabaisse remains a highlight of the menu. The signature dish of Chef Nicolas Davouze, formerly of Bocuse and the Bristol Paris? Sea bass en croûte, a market-fresh herb casserole, and choron emulsion.
