1. Jiva Hill Resort | Weekend between Jura and Mont Blanc (144 km, 1h40 drive)
The pitch? Jiva Hill Resort is a superb five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel located in the Ain region close to the Swiss border. It's the ideal base for enjoying all the activities of the Pays de Gex (ski resort just a few kilometers from the hotel, hiking, cultural visits...). It's also the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the hotel's many attractions. The contemporary decor is by architect Cristina Gherardi Benardeau. She sets the tone right from the lobby, punctuated by openwork bookcases, creating alcoves in which to curl up. Beautiful materials, furniture with noble lines, designer pieces and harmonious colors, nothing is left to chance. The Jiva Hill offers 44 rooms, twenty of them in a brand-new building set in a deliberately wild garden at the foot of the imposing Haut-Jura mountains.
Gastronomy? The hotel where you can spend a weekend near Lyon has two tables... and two chefs: Jean-François Vasseur and Zakaria Mahfoud. In the restaurant as in Le Jardin the dishes follow the seasons, giving priority to local suppliers. Le Jiva offers bistronomic cuisine with a daring twist, such as scallops snacked with Jerusalem artichokes and coffee. In summer, the superb outdoor pool invites you to take a dip with a view of the mountains.
Activities and "+" of this resort hotel: the establishment is set in the heart of a 45-hectare verdant estate in the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park. On-site activities include golf (a 9-hole golf course with 18 tee-offs on the hotel premises), tennis (2 courts), water skiing (a 700-metre-long lake is dedicated to this pastime) and wakeboarding at the hotel's own nautical base. Finally, the resort is just a five-minute drive from the gondola to the Lélex-Crozet ski resort, the largest in Monts-Jura (24 runs, from green to black). 2. Les Trésoms Lake and Spa Resort | Stay in Annecy (2h, 148 km)
