Paris: our selection of deco and design hotels
Close to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in old Montmartre or near the Ile Saint-Louis, these design hotels in Paris imagine the most beautiful settings within their walls.

1. Brach Paris, brilliant patchwork
Welcome to the paradise of warm, arty design: at Brach Paris (EVOK Group), hospitality takes on an unprecedented, vibrant visual dimension! Imagined by Philippe Starck, the hotel in Paris has taken over the 7,000 m² of a former postal sorting center in the 16th arrondissement. Its aesthetic draws on 1930s architecture - Bauhaus, modernism - at the same time as it blends influences from the four corners of the globe. Inside, the décor features raw materials (wood, leather, concrete, glass, marble), mirrors, a palette of warm tones and a mix of objets d'art, totems and sculptures... The almost museum-like scenography oscillates between pure fantasy and hushed glamour in the spirit of the seventies.

The 59 rooms and suites (some with terraces and Norwegian baths) offer spectacular views over the rooftops of Paris and, for a privileged few, the Eiffel Tower. Luxury is expressed down to the smallest detail: rosewood, fluted glass, marble basins, antique objects, large picture windows with automated blackout blinds... The decor is superbly composed, magnetic and wildly chic. Brach is also experienced behind the room door, as the establishment offers a range of services and experiences with a taste of exclusivity: in the basement, the sport & well-being club is a veritable lifestyle temple in Paris, with its 22 m² pool, hammam, sauna, Clarins spa and even a salt grotto. Group classes (pool, gym, cardio and weight training) are offered daily.

On the first floor, Restaurant Brach serves up a Mediterranean-inspired menu in a kitchen that opens onto a lively dining room, again brimming with charming details. The hotel also features an in-house patisserie, a panoramic rooftop, a private workshop... And even a vegetable garden where the restaurant's herbs grow and a few chickens proudly gambol about their contribution. Few addresses in Paris cultivate their own art of living to such an extent!
More than a hotel, Brach Paris is a place to live, an inspiring landmark for Parisians and travelers in search of design, energy and singularity. You're enveloped in style and beauty, but there's a fragrance of intimacy in the air that makes you feel perfectly at home. Perhaps, too, thanks to a few immersive "extras": an enchanting scent throughout the 5-star hotel in Paris, and a very friendly (and free) welcome for our dog friends. The hotel's decor comes alive, and it's a feast for all the senses!

2. Hotel Dame des Arts, a signature setting
On the Left Bank, a stone's throw from Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the recently inaugurated Hôtel Dame des Arts is an ode to the district's artistic history. Designed by Raphaël Navot, named designer of the year at last year's Maison & Objet, the interior architecture of this 1950s building revisits Parisian style and the cinematic ambience of the Nouvelle Vague. All 109 rooms, a third of which have terraces overlooking the rooftops of Paris or the Eiffel Tower, feature a unique selection of works of art. The simple lines sublimate the beauty of the raw materials used, like the fluted solid oak that adorns most of the rooms and common areas, or the burnt oak whose black color adorns the varnished floors designed by the designer himself. A veritable showcase in Paris 6, where bespoke furnishings are a guarantee of refinement.

Raphaël Navot perfects his work with industrial touches here and there, in reference to the architecture of the place and its listed windows with their original geometric motifs. For breakfast, opt for the buffet, which can be enjoyed in the garden in fine weather. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant, which takes on a hushed, subdued atmosphere in the evening, serves dishes to share and a menu with Mexican influences. The highlight is one of Paris's finest rooftops , with cocktails and natural wines overlooking the capital and its landmarks.

3. Hôtel Particulier Montmartre, glamour in the background
Just a stone's throw from the Sacré-Coeur, this former Hermès family estate converted into a hotel in Old Montmartre is a plush haven where time seems to stand still. The mansion, which dates back to 1871, boasts the largest hotel garden in Paris. With its century-old trees, antique-inspired statues and fountain, this listed bucolic setting is home to the restaurant's terrace, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, tea time and dinner à la française. Inside the estate, there are just 5 suites for a confidential stay.

Each of these rooms, recently transformed by the talent of interior designer Pierre Lacroix, has a different decor. Between leopard folly, hushed boudoir and red velvet drapes, he brilliantly masters the total look, without turning to kitsch, as the refinement is exceptional. Pierre Lacroix has surrounded himself with the finest furnishing houses, such as the unmissable Pierre Frey. In the basement, the Le Très Particulier bar, with its wood panelling and subdued mirrors, conveys the same spirit. In the evening, this floral Eden serves creative cocktails around plates to share.

4. Hotel Orphée, minimalist charm
On the Left Bank in the 5th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the Jardin des Plantes, the Hotel Orphée is a 44-room urban refuge in homage to the eponymous musician poet of Greek mythology. For this 7th opus of the Orso hotel brand, architect Éloïse Bosredon drew her inspiration from Le Corbusier's Cabanon and the Bauhaus school. With their geometric purity and ageless design, the minimalist, functional lines that run through the hotel cultivate a taste for beauty and craftsmanship. The terracotta-colored ceramic tiles in the bathrooms contrast with the exotic, grained Okoumé wood decorating the walls, arches, closets and desks in the bedrooms. Sparing touches of steel and immaculate headboards with relief-sculpted geometric motifs contrast with the warm colors.

From the windows, a romantic backdrop unfolds over the rooftops of Paris. The Pantheon can be seen on some floors. On the first floor, you'll find the breakfast room and signature cocktail bar, which opens at nightfall, as well as the hammam, whose warmth is reminiscent of Orpheus descending into hell.

5. SO/ Paris, futuristic elegance
Facing the Seine, near Ile Saint-Louis, the first Parisian hotel in the SO/ collection is located in the heart of Félicité, a 60s building recently refurbished by British architect David Chipperfield. The décor, designed by interior architecture agency RDAI, reveals fabulous aquatic reminiscences inspired by the former Parisian island of Louviers, through concentric circles of light and other ricochets. Right from the lobby, gigantic tulip columns and amber mirrored walls take center stage. On all sides, vibrant colors, like the brick tones reminiscent of Parisian rooftops.

At the counter of the design hotel, authentic seats by the illustrious designer Pierre Paulin are brought together. From the 162 spacious rooms and suites with parquet floors and graphic carpets, the huge windows guarantee one of the finest views of the City of Light and the Seine. In room, the CFOC brand, renowned for its lacquer and ceramic wonders, distills accessories as chic as they are elegant. Perched on the 15th floor, it's the Parisian restaurant, bar and club à la française Bonnie that's taking Paris by storm. Echoing the chic Cardin style of the '60s, the décor by Jordane Arrivetz of the Notoire agency, co-created with the spatial work of Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann, features maxi patterned carpets, mirrored surfaces and chrome sconces. At the bar, the soft furnishings of rising design duo Garnier & Linker are a delight. The Maison Codage spa, with its fitness room and 20-metre swimming pool, is just as sophisticated. In the ultimate nod to the hotel's charm, the staff are dressed by Guillaume Henry, artistic director of Maison Patou.

6. Monsieur Aristide, the mischievous, confidential Montmartre
In the 18th arrondissement, the cobbled alleyway of rue Aristide Bruant is home to Monsieur Aristide, a boutique-hotel with a private house feel, cast in the bohemian atmosphere of Montmartre. It's a charming, intimate place to stop, far from the stuffy palaces and crowded chain hotels. Interior designer Marion Collard orchestrated the transformation of a 19th century building into a 25-room hotel (including 4 suites) with a retro ambience. On each floor, a color-tone echoes the rising light: sand, powder pink, brick, whisky... Everywhere, the decor is a cheerful mix of vintage touches, mottled objects (jukebox, old transistors, musical instruments) and designer furniture.
The building also conceals a planted courtyard-garden with open-air terrace, and a restaurant/bar, two spaces that extend the house into the heart of neighborhood life. The hotel also boasts a sustainable dimension: recycled materials for the restaurant's terrazzo floor, a shower rather than a bathtub to limit water consumption, the installation of photovoltaic panels, a rainwater recovery tank... Monsieur Aristide puts design at the service of a local story, that of contemporary Montmartre, arty, authentic and mischievous: and it's a success!

7. La Fantaisie, a flamboyant setting for bucolic souls
In the heart of the 9th arrondissement, La Fantaisie blows a bucolic, cheerful breeze down rue Cadet! The architecture of this five-star boutique-hotel, designed by Petitdidierprioux, incorporates an enlarged garden, a planted rooftop and a large glass roof. And the interior, imagined by Swedish designer Martin Brudnizki - known for his flamboyant decors from London to New York - unfolds like a daydream.
In the 73 rooms, including 10 suites, light caresses the velvets, pastel hues mingle with floral prints in a décor inspired by the history of the Cadet brothers, master gardeners of the 16th-century. The atmosphere is colorful, poetic, everything perfectly photogenic: here, we celebrate pleasure and lightness! The spirit of La Fantaisie is also on display at its gourmet addresses, signed by three-starred chef Dominique Crenn. The meat-free Golden Poppy restaurant and rooftop bar offer sun-drenched, local cuisine, while a street-side café invites Parisians to share in the excitement of the neighborhood. As for the underground spa, it's a well-kept secret, where visitors come to recharge their batteries with a hammam, mosaic-covered pools and a range of treatments specializing in sculpting massage. The perfect urban oasis!

8. Elysée montmartre, the art of purity
Between the legendary Élysée Montmartre and Trianon concert halls, hotel Élysée Montmartre slips into the heart of the buzzing 18th arrondissement like a gentle breath. This confidential 16-room boutique hotel was inaugurated in 2025, having been redesigned by studio Policronica in a minimalist, warm Wabi-Sabi spirit. Here, blond eucalyptus wood is king: carved into undulating ceilings, shaped into geometric seats, omnipresent in the bespoke furniture... At once eco-responsible and sensual, it gives the space a soothing coherence, underscored by soft lighting and sublimated by a palette of natural tones. This immersive design has earned the address several awards, including the prestigious Building of the Year trophy in 2025.
Under the rooftops, the duplex rooms (between 45 and 55 sq.m.) feel like urban refuges, sober yet cosy with their Japanese lines and handcrafted furniture. The Zen experience continues in the breakfast room, where wood meets rough stone, and even in the small retro projection room, a nod to a collection of vintage Laserdiscs. The Élysée Montmartre Hôtel celebrates a discreet and refined art of living, thanks to a soothing aesthetic deeply rooted in the material. Very slow life!

9. La Fondation, an arty luxury village
Brand new and already iconic: La Fondation opened its doors in spring 2025 and is already establishing itself as the new 5-star address to watch in Paris. It's worth noting that the volumes are generous: housed in a former Brutalist garage rehabilitated by PCA-STREAM and New York duo Roman & Williams, the hotel unfurls over 10,000 sq. m. of fluid, luminous space behind its glass façade. The spirit of the place is a hybrid "hotel-village" and urban ecosystem, between art, design and gastronomy... The idea? Live, work, recharge and be inspired all in the same place.
There are 58 chic rooms, including three suites bathed in light, an arty brasserie, a panoramic restaurant, a confidential coffee shop, a vertiginous rooftop with a 360° view of Paris... And that's not all! A 1,000 m² wellness area with semi-olympic pool, yoga studios, hammam and treatments by Typology and Ho Karan, sits alongside coworking rooms, creative offices and an art gallery. Each corner of La Fondation reveals a new touch of inventiveness, like a veritable creative playground: here, a hand-painted shutter, there, a piece of furniture fashioned by an exceptional craftsman. The artistic curation is by Amélie, Maison d'Art, while the olfactory signature was imagined by Lola James Harper. A demand for beauty in all its forms that redefines urban luxury!

10. Le Grand Mazarin, a baroque extravaganza in the heart of the Marais district
Opening in 2023, this flamboyant five-star hotel between the Seine and Hôtel de Ville is the first Parisian property to be built by the Pariente group (Crillon Le Brave, Le Coucou Méribel...). And it's an address that doesn't do things by halves! The hotel, housed in a 14th-century building, boldly plays with its heritage, under the magic wand of designer Martin Brudnizki (him again!). True to his exuberant style, the Swedish designer has imagined a décor where the spirit of the literary salons of yesteryear is tinged with an assumed chromatic fantasy: revisited medieval tapestries, shimmering carpets, Pierre Frey fabrics, and gilded details signed by the finest French craft houses... The whole vibrates with a joyfully baroque energy, halfway between fairy tale and cosy cocoon.
The 61 rooms and suites, all singular, extend the visual magic with monumental beds, soft carpets and refined textures. Some open onto confidential terraces overlooking the BHV, while others hide a mosaic pool under their vaults, adorned with a fresco by painter Jacques Merle - a true bath of softness! On the dining side, the Boubalé restaurant is attracting the attention of the Parisian elite, with sunny Mediterranean flavors and traditional recipes from the Levant. And to top it all off, head for the spa, where a superb striped pool and arty ceiling offer a rare interlude in the heart of Paris. Le Grand Mazarin is a singular - but superb - ode to French art de vivre!
