Sologne’s best hotels, luxurious and charming
For a getaway combining culture, art de vivre and gastronomy, Sologne, with its mosaic of landscapes and home to the famous Loire castles, is an ideal destination. Here’s a look at some of the 4 and 5-star hotels in Sologne, emblematic of a certain French art de vivre.

1. La Borde en Sologne, Château & Spa
La Borde en Sologne - Château & Spa cultivates the rare art of living in the XVIIIᵉ century without lapsing into nostalgia. In Vernou-en-Sologne, this listed residence, set twenty minutes from Blois, Chambord and Cheverny, has been given a new lease of life under the impetus of Anabelle Ubald-Bocquet and Jean-Marie de Mourgues. Children of the Loir-et-Cher region, they took over the estate because of their attachment to the region, their love of its heritage, and their sincere desire to create a human-scale hotel in Sologne that would echo their roots as much as their Parisian real estate experience.

The château has preserved its original patina: moldings, frescoes, woodwork and monumental fireplaces tell the story of the estate's architectural memory. The adjoining salons catch the light of the park, while the oeil-de-boeuf windows on the top floor reveal a countryside that stretches far, far away... All around, the forty-hectare estate alternates between the rigor of French gardens and the flexibility of English perspectives. We love: a certain vision of elegance without fuss, in the service of a Sologne that is regaining its place in the landscape of beautiful French destinations. The perfect place for a nature weekend.

At the heart of the estate is a vast kitchen garden featuring some fifty varieties of fruit and vegetables (lettuces, radishes, beans, zucchinis, leeks, strawberries, aromatic herbs), which supply the restaurant's kitchens every day. The estate's farm is home to chickens, pheasants and ponies, a delight for the little ones. The goats of a neighboring breeder also make their contribution, with cheeses of impeccable freshness. The Mémoire restaurant offers a short, seasonal menu inspired by the vegetable garden, while brunch, a much-appreciated moment of indulgence and conviviality, is served every Sunday from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

The château boasts 35 rooms and suites, each around 40 sq. m. in size, each with its own character, furnished with a mix of family heirlooms, antique pieces and designer creations, and enhanced by fabrics and wallpapers from French houses. The estate also boasts two heated swimming pools, a tennis court designed by Guy Forget, a glass-enclosed fitness room in the former greenhouse and a spa nestled in the orangery, where MyBlend and Alaena Cosmétique treatments are offered. The spa includes a sauna, hammam and massages, with free access to the facilities for those aged 16 and over.

2. Fleur de Loire - Christophe Hay
This spa hotel is a little gem on the outskirts of Blois: a former XVIIᵉ century hospice facing the Loire, recently transformed into a 5-star establishment. Visitors are welcomed as if into a large family home... version grand luxe. Upon entering, visitors are lulled by a soft, luminous atmosphere. The 44 rooms and suites of Fleur de Loire, decorated with plant-patterned tapestries, powdered tones and wood accents, offer a natural elegance. They have that extra soul that evokes the nearby river. The restaurant, the beating heart of the place, is the work of two-starred chef Christophe Hay, adorned with a green star. His cuisine tells the story of the land: vegetables from the kitchen garden, line-caught Loire fish, home-raised wagyu beef, Sologne truffles, caviar... For a more relaxed atmosphere, head to Amour Blanc, a chic bistro where you can share plates overlooking the Château de Blois.

On the wellness front, the 450 m² Spa Sisley is currently closed for renovations. Its reopening (scheduled for April 23, 2026) promises an even more rejuvenating space.
And because it's always a pleasure to bring back a souvenir of one's travels, a stop at the patisserie kiosk, boutique or delicatessen is a must, to prolong the pleasure with a Hay tart or a carefully sourced local sweet.

3. Relais de Chambord
Boasting an exceptional location in the Sologne region for visiting the Loire castles, the 4-star Relais de Chambord, inaugurated in 2018, sits opposite the castle built by François Ier. Jean-Michel Wilmotte, responsible for transforming the former coaching inn into a 4-star hotel, took great care to emphasize the Renaissance spirit: the new façade is adorned with slate and tall, narrow windows echoing the castle's roof. A salamander, the royal emblem, unfurls over the fireplace, and large frescoes depicting parts of the château adorn the rooms and suites.

The 55 rooms feature contemporary decor and fine materials, from leather door handles to parquet flooring, and are divided into 3 categories: Cosy (between 16 and 19 m²), Superior (between 17 and 23 m²), Deluxe and Junior Suite (up to 40 m²). Please note, however, that only the Deluxe and Junior Suites offer a view of the château. On the dining front, the Grand Saint-Michel offers a fine dining experience overseen by chef Joseph Viola. The Val de Loire restaurant has been awarded two "Fourchettes Rouges" and one "Assiette" by Michelin. Finally, a small, well-designed spa offers sauna, hammam and an outdoor Jacuzzi with a view of the château - what else?
The plus? The proximity of the château and the exceptional view of it from the hotel terrace and some rooms.

4. Les Sources de Cheverny
Just a stone's throw from the châteaux of the Loire Valley, Les Sources de Cheverny is the ideal base camp for a multi-faceted getaway. Building on the success of Les Sources de Caudalie, a hotel in the vineyards inaugurated in 1999, Jérôme and Alice Tourbier have expanded on this winning concept! A veritable hamlet, this five-star hotel features a variety of buildings in front of a late 18th-century château, in the heart of a 45-hectare park. An atypical ensemble, with some suites housed in wooden sheds reminiscent of old farmhouses. The address houses 49 rooms and suites in 6 buildings: the Château du Breuil, the Maison des Fleurs, the Maison des Fruits, the 6-room Grange aux Abeilles, designed to house tribes, the Hameau du Marais and the famous Le Baron Perché suite perched on stilts above the mini-lake.

The hotel's 13 rooms in Sologne have a "family home" feel, with fireplaces, antique furniture and wood panelling. The rooms and suites in the cabanons feature contemporary decor and sober colors. At the piano is chef Pierre Frindel, who heads the two restaurants, the stone-walled, timber-framed Auberge, with its adjoining bar offering tapas and a cutting-edge selection of local vintages, and the Favori, awarded a Michelin star in 2022.
The highlight? The spa, dressed in recycled wood. In the reception area, you can admire a mural by Claire Blaser, depicting the surrounding nature. Treat yourself to a Caudalie treatment before taking a dip in one of the two pools.

5. Les Hayes en Sologne
Les Hayes en Sologne is the spirit of a XIXᵉ century chateau less than 10 km from the famous castles of Chambord and Cheverny, set in a 180-hectare private estate.
Access is via a kilometer-long private lane through the forest, before a bend in the road reveals an elegantly restored tufa stone mansion overlooking a peaceful stretch of water. Intimate and elegant, this hotel in the Sologne region offers just 19 rooms and suites, some of which feature unique facilities such as a home cinema, each with its own unique identity. Choose from bohemian Sologne charm or the more traditional "vie de château" atmosphere.
The bistronomic restaurant Le Cyprès Chauve offers generous, convivial cuisine. In a revisited barbecue spirit, the chef sublimates grilled meat and fish, smoked vegetables and homemade sauces. During the summer months, barbecue parties punctuate the evenings at the heart of the estate. Visitors can extend the evening with a nightcap at the hotel bar.
Here, time flies between brazier evenings for roasting chestnuts or marshmallows, homemade snacks, forest walks to meet deer and hinds, and stargazing sessions in the sky. This 4-star hotel in the Sologne region offers a sweet retreat for a nature weekend.
