Hong Kong’s best rooftops and bars with a view
Hong Kong is home to the largest number of skyscrapers on the planet. And since it’s always nice to sip a cocktail at the end of the day while taking in a superb panorama, here’s our selection of the best bars with a view in Hong Kong.

1. Ozone, going beyond the clouds
To kick things off in style, here's Hong Kong's highest bar and rooftop! On the 118th floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong hotel, it's also the highest in the world. Featuring an indoor room and an outdoor rooftop, Ozone offers a head-turning drinks menu in an ultra-modern setting: signature cocktails and mocktails inspired by the five elements, world wines, spirits and French champagnes. Our favorite? The Zero Proof Fire cocktail, with Lyre's sec à l'orange, mango nectar, elderflower, lime and pimento. An explosion in the mouth against a breathtaking urban backdrop. At an altitude of almost 500 metres, the views of Hong Kong Island and its mythical skyline across Victoria Bay are almost unreal, as the skyscrapers of Central appear to be so small from up here.
2. Sugar, Hong Kong's open-air rooftop bar
Located on the 32nd floor of the EAST Hotel, in the eastern quarters of Hong Kong Island, this Hong Kong rooftop bar and terrace is open from 5.30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays (1.30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights). Its location on the periphery and its height offer a slightly different and absolutely magical view of Kowloon Bay and the boats that criss-cross it. In the elegant indoor lounge or on the long terrace furnished with sofas, bar stools and armchairs, Hong Kong's rooftop offers cocktails with unusual flavors whose names are inspired by Hong Kong cinema. Order The Lucky Guy, and you'll enjoy a drink with coffee liqueur, brioche, milk and black tea; Echoes of the Rainbow is a rum infused with sage, azuki liqueur, peach, pineapple and salted egg yolk mooncake mousse. For the less adventurous, mocktails and softs are also on the menu. Finally, to make your break in the heights of Hong Kong last longer, a Japanese-style menu is available.
3. Hutong, rooftop overlooking the sea
Perched on the waterfront of Tsim Sha Tsui, on the Kowloon side, this restaurant allows you to admire the cityscape while enjoying haute cuisine from North China, with occasional forays into Sichuan thanks to a perfect mastery of chili. Hutong, named after Beijing's old traditional districts, is the glamorous restaurant to go to for a romantic evening. Subdued lighting, bay windows offering a breathtaking view of the bay, decor worthy of the greatest films, and the possibility of privatizing the space for corporate lunches and special events for 12 people or more. So how about watching the sun go down while sipping their flagship cocktail the Comfortably Numb-Kettle One Vodka infused with vanilla, lychee, and honey infused with Sichuan pepper and lime?
The must? Choose the table in the glassed-in corner that gives the impression of having lunch or dinner in weightlessness, facing the void.
4. Argo at the Four Seasons Hotel
Located in the heart of the Central district, the 5-star Four Seasons Hotel is renowned for its gourmet offerings - ranging from Michelin-starred gastronomy to copious buffets - and bars. L'Argo stands out for the originality of its interior function room: bay windows as walls allow light to penetrate at any time of day, and the bar with its apothecary shelves stands majestically in the center of the room, as if to raise the already high ceiling. As for drinks, the in-house creations impress with their balance and research: gimlet with sandalwood-smoked bergamot, Alexander tex-mex or Manhattan with triple sec de kumquat.
During the day, the bar also transforms into a gourmet destination with a top-quality buffet brunch, where fresh seafood such as king crabs and shrimps mingle with tasty hot dishes such as oysters au gratin with cheese or tender lamb chops.
5. The Aubrey, a look to the Far East
Combining contemporary elegance with the charm of the Japanese izakaya, this indoor bar on the 25th floor of the Mandarin Oriental is a must for your next week's stay in Hong Kong. In fact, it was ranked 10th best bar in Asia in the famous Asia's 50 Best Bars list. Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from midday to 1 a.m. (and up to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), the cocktail bar also doubles as a restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Japanese brunches, lunches and dinners. Behind picture windows, facing magnificent views, you can enjoy rare sakes and inventive cocktails with shoshu liqueur.
Sake lovers won't want to miss Tsuchida Aubrey Junmai, the result of an exclusive collaboration between The Aubrey and the Tsuchida brewery in Japan's picturesque Gunma prefecture. Made from only 90% polished asahi no yume rice and imagined by Maxim Kassir, head sommelier at The Aubrey London, this premium sake is distinguished by its low alcohol content (13%), offering a lighter, more balanced experience, perfect for sensitive palates.
What's more? On Fridays, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., this chic bar transforms into a trendy club featuring the most renowned DJs on the local scene.
6. Cardinal Point, state-of-the-art brunch
Who doesn't enjoy a good Sunday brunch to start a day out in Hong Kong? Cardinal Point, at the top of The Landmark, serves brunch on Sundays and public holidays from 11:30am to 4:30pm. Worthy of a real meal, these menus feature sharing boards, salads, various egg dishes, pastas, pizzas and a selection of cocktails (Aperol spritz, espresso martini...), all facing a breathtaking view of Victoria Bay and the hills of Victoria Peak, from the Central district.
7. Aqua, a breathtaking view of Tsim Sha Tsui
This sophisticated rooftop, perched on the 17th floor of the H Zentre in Tsim Sha Tsui, offers a unique culinary and visual experience overlooking Hong Kong Bay. Aqua combines a spacious and elegant dining room, lined with large picture windows revealing a spectacular panorama of Victoria Bay. Two vast outdoor terraces extend this breathtaking view, embracing both Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon skyline. The à la carte menu features a bold fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine, from lunch to dinner, including tasty brunches: antipasti, risottos and pizzas rub shoulders with tempura, sashimi and maki.
The experience continues at the ultra-stylish bar, where signature cocktails, fine wines and premium spirits are enjoyed in a vibrant atmosphere. Every Friday, from noon to 3 p.m., the All About Sushi buffet offers an unlimited selection of Japanese creations, followed by a main course and dessert. End the evening on the terraces, with a drink in hand, rocked by DJ mixes until late at night.
8. Skye, open-air lounge atmosphere
Looking to recapture a little of your sweet France in Hong Kong? SKYE, nestled on the 27th floor of luxury hotel The Park Lane, is a modern, elegant brasserie. With its prime location facing Victoria Park on Hong Kong Island and a terrace offering panoramic views of the skyline and waterfront, Hong Kong's rooftop brasserie combines contemporary French cuisine - onion soup, beef bourguignon and a fresh local oyster bar - with bespoke cocktails in a breathtaking setting.
Outside, the futuristic terrace, with its lounge sofas and majestic illuminated round bar, is the perfect place to enjoy creative cocktails or snacks in complete relaxation, to the sound of the resident DJ's electrifying evening playlists. At weekends, the experience continues with a semi-buffet brunch featuring self-service beverage options.
9. Top Town
Top Town, one of the latest rooftops to make a splash in the Central district, promises an evening as vibrant as it is sophisticated. This Art Deco bar, imagined by Gian Franco Razzani, a passionate Italian restaurateur from Abruzzo, evokes the glamour of New York penthouses from the Roaring Twenties, like a nod to the glittering world of Gatsby the Magnificent. With a breathtaking view of the skyline, the Hong Kong rooftop combines a bold signature cocktail menu with a selection of refined Italian wines. You can't miss the "Chipilo", an innovative cross between Paloma and mojito, combining mezcal, tequila and bergamot liqueur, or the "Influencer", a reinterpretation of the Negroni with floral and fruity notes, thanks to Akori Sakura and Glendalough Rose gins.
The menu at this American-style seafood bar features Italian antipasti revisited as gourmet dishes: the shrimp carpaccio with coral reduction and yuzu mayonnaise is surely the signature dish... and for good reason!
10. Faye, a club high up in Central
Surrounded by the skyscrapers of Central, this two-storey Hong Kong rooftop - on the 25th and 26th floors of the California Tower - stands out as one of the territory's most electrifying bars. This lively venue transforms itself into a veritable open-air nightclub after dark, hosting renowned DJs who keep the decks buzzing until the first light of day. This is one of the few rooftops in Hong Kong where you can watch the sunrise. Between strobes, lasers and techno music, the energy attracts a crowd of night owls ready to dance without restraint. The decor, both chic and quirky, is daring with its merry-go-round horses and futuristic winks, whether in the elegant indoor lounge or on the vast outdoor terrace.
Open every evening except Sunday, Faye gets off to a gentle start with sunset happy hours, before shifting into a frenetic atmosphere where signature cocktails, live music and starry skies combine for unforgettable evenings.
