Our Review of the New Spa at the Hôtel du Collectionneur

Just a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées, the Hôtel du Collectionneur is unveiling its new Art Deco-inspired spa, continuing the aesthetic theme of the spectacular grand hotel that houses it. It is certainly a refined setting, but one that is also designed for performance and led by a highly talented spa manager.

What's the spa like at the Hôtel du Collectionneur?

Have you heard of the Hôtel du Collectionneur? This 5-star “ocean liner” of a hotel, with 496 rooms and suites and 1,800 square meters of space, is nestled between Parc Monceau and the Champs-Élysées. It’s conveniently central enough to make getting around a breeze, yet set back just enough to avoid the hustle and bustle of Paris. Boasting a large interior garden, the hotel (which also features 21 versatile meeting rooms for hosting seminars) already has a genuine sense of history, despite its recent renovation in 2024.

Does a grand hotel always mean an exceptional spa? Not necessarily. Before this spectacular makeover, the Collectionneur’s spa paled in comparison, with its single jacuzzi and outdated decor. The decision was therefore made to give this luxury hotel in the 8th arrondissement of Paris a spa worthy of its ambitions. After a massive year-and-a-half-long renovation, the wellness center officially opened in the spring of 2026.

And the result is stunning.

Entrusted to Italian designer Mauro Tonon, the renovation extends the Roaring Twenties theme without any aesthetic disruption; the spa feels like a natural extension of the hotel. The materials and finishes reflect an almost obsessive attention to detail: gold-leaf mosaics in the 18-meter pool, heated to 29 degrees and equipped with hydromassage jets, sculpted frescoes depicting birds and fountains, alabaster sconces, and ironwork inspired by the 1930s master blacksmith Gilbert Poillerat… Even the treatment rooms—named Greta Garbo, Joséphine Baker, Fred Astaire, and Jeanne Lanvin—feature state-of-the-art home automation: lighting, music, and ambiance are controlled via a digital tablet.

Which treatment should you try?

The signature Tapis Rouge treatment. Seventy-eight minutes, a nod to the 78 steps of the monumental lobby staircase inspired by transatlantic ocean liners. A comprehensive treatment that combines the best of three worlds: an expert brand, precise manual techniques, and cutting-edge technology.

The treatment notably includes a remarkably executed kobido sequence (designed to stimulate collagen and elastin, promote hyperemia, and boost cellular exchange all the way down to the dermis), combined with the application of an activating gel, as well as HIFU and infrared technologies. The spa has chosen Cellcosmet, a Swiss brand with over forty years of expertise in cellular cosmetics, known for its patents and highly technical approach to anti-aging skincare. This cutting-edge expertise makes this treatment a comprehensive regimen, particularly suited for tired, dull, or sagging skin.

The menu also features personalized massages, exfoliation treatments, targeted “light legs” treatments, madero therapy, and three energy-boosting treatments that are certainly worth trying.

A spa already popular with athletes. This comes as no surprise given the 100 m² designer gym: herringbone hardwood floors, state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, wooden dumbbells by PENT, cork yoga mats, Lagree machines… and even, exclusively, an Aquablu smart water fountain dispensing vitamin-enriched, scented, sugar-free water. Liverpool soccer players, Roland-Garros tennis players, and a French kickboxing champion are already regulars there.

A Smart Kid-Friendly Policy

The spa welcomes families during two dedicated time slots: from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. And to make sure the little ones feel truly welcome—while teaching them the rules of good behavior—spa manager Frédéric Toulze (formerly of the Parisian luxury hotel Le Mandarin Oriental Lutetia) created Lucky the Pony, a mascot tasked with welcoming the children, as well as a short adventure trail filled with puzzles and fun challenges.
