Maison Barrière Vendôme: a new boutique hotel inspired by women
At the junction of Rue du Mont-Thabor and Rue de Castiglione, between Place Vendôme and the Tuileries Gardens, Groupe Barrière will open a 26-key boutique hotel, bar-restaurant and spa in January 2025.
Maison Barrière Vendôme: 3 key points to remember
- The Barrière group, renowned for its legendary hotels such as Le Normandy in Deauville and Le Majestic in Cannes, will open the group's smallest address, a boutique hotel in Paris between Place Vendôme and the Tuileries Gardens. The Maison Barrière Vendôme, a 5-star hotel on the corner of rue du Mont Thabor and rue de Castiglione, will feature 26 rooms, suites and self-catering apartments, each inspired by a famous woman - poet, aviator, singer, actress - who shares a history with Paris. Decorator Daniel Jibert has called on France's finest craftsmen - Lalique glassworks, Ateliers de Ricou for paintings, and Declercq passementerie, which supplies Versailles and Fontainebleau - to ensure that each room tells the story of its illustrious host.
- The Josephine Baker suite is inspired by the Folies Bergère atmosphere, with its panther sofa, ethnic headboard and feather painting, while the Nina Simone apartment captures the piano bar spirit of the 60s and 70s. Agatha Christie's delicate courtyard apartment is lit by a Chinese lamp, like a country house where you'd like to sit and write, while on the floor below, the yellow walls of Maria Callas' apartment evoke the flamboyance of the stage. 13 apartments feature top-of-the-range marble kitchens with wine cellars, and the Grande Suite George Sand, on the 7th floor, can be rented out in its entirety for private events and dinners overlooking the Vendôme Column, the Sacré-Coeur and the Opéra, under a solid wood framework evoking the unique character of the Château de Nohant.
- Without passing through the lobby, where you'll find a staircase banister sculpted with vegetation and dreamlike animals by Clémentine de Chabaneix, head for Frida, for breakfast or a meal at any time, the hotel's restaurant and bar inspired by the South American artist. Murano suspensions from which luxuriant glass vegetation emerges, vivid frescoes reminiscent of the gardens in the artist's paintings, right through to the kitchen, which plunges us into a chimerical, spicy universe of shareable dishes and colorful cocktails. There's also a veranda and a small green terrace. Finally, in the basement, a forthcoming spa with two treatment rooms under stone vaults.
