The most beautiful golf hotels in Brittany
Brittany is a true golf destination. Its temperate climate means you can play all year round, and its magnificent seaside courses offer a wide variety for players of all levels. Let’s take a look at the golf hotels in Brittany where you can practice your swing, with a little detour to La Baule for 2 more addresses.

1. Hôtel Le Nessay, Ille-et-Vilaine golf hotel
Set on the Nessay peninsula overlooking the Grande Salinette beach, with its postcard-perfect beach cabins from the 1950s, this majestic 19th-century red-brick building has become a modern 4-star hotel in Brittany. Architects Dominique Bergerault and Stéphanie Cayet have preserved the warm, elegant atmosphere of this former family home. The decor perfectly reflects this holiday-home spirit, as evidenced by the photos, boots and hats in the entrance hall... There are 17 rooms and suites scattered over three different locations. The main house houses 9 rooms and 2 suites, all with sea views. The two imposing "poternes" consist of 4 large rooms, framing the entrance to the park, and two rooms on the beach, where you can wake up by the sea.

In the bathrooms, the welcome products are stamped Dyptique: we love it! Top of the line? Le Nessay suite: 55m2 perched on the top floor, its 40 m² terrace offers a spectacular view of the Emerald Coast, and you can sleep in the turret with its round bed. In the restaurant, headed by chef Corentin Dagorn, the menu features local, seasonal produce: fish, seafood and roasted meats, not to mention a superb dessert buffet. Sunday brunch has become a must! In the evening, head for the west-facing terrace, the place to be to admire the sunset with a drink in hand...
Finally, for a getaway with family or friends, the golf hotel in Brittany has inaugurated a villa to rent in Brittany, the Maison du Nessay, just two kilometers from the center and the beaches: 5 rooms and a 17-meter-long heated swimming pool.
Where do you golf? Dinard golf course, designed by Tom Dunn in 1887, is the second oldest in France after Pau (1856). It's located just a few minutes from Le Nessay, on the seafront that can be seen from the 18 holes. The Club-House, a listed building, has retained its British charm. And Le Nessay has teamed up with the Dinard golf club to give its customers easy access to this magnificent course.

2. Hotel & Spa Domaine de La Bretesche, golf hotel in Loire-Atlantique, France
Between Vannes and La Baule, the 200-hectare Domaine de la Bretesche lies on the edge of the Brière Regional Nature Park. This 5-star hotel, a member of the Relais & Châteaux family, was completely renovated in March 2025 by Stéphanie Decurey. The 36 rooms and suites, all different and decorated in a contemporary boudoir style, offer a view of the lake dominated by the 15th-century château, or of the paved inner courtyard and the golf course in the distance: a very pretty sight indeed. The best of all? The nine terraced villas located in the former sheepfold, for a peaceful stay for 2 or 4, surrounded by greenery.

As for the table, it is run by Felipe Silvestre, who has worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants, including La Bastide Saint-Antoine in Grasse with Jacques Chibois, and Les Pêcheurs in Cap d'Antibes, in the kitchens of Nicolas Rondelli. At Domaine de la Bretesche, he offers a refined menu rooted in the Breton terroir, between land and sea, at the gastronomic restaurant Le Montaigu.

He also applies his talents in the cosy Brasserie du Club and at the bar, set up in the former stables, where you can enjoy your cocktail in horse stalls. The Spa de la Cour Carrée (400 m2), where treatments are by Cinq Mondes and Omnisens, is the latest highlight. It features six cabins and a vast 14-metre-long heated indoor pool, sheltered by a glass roof offering a delightful view of the surrounding countryside.

The golf de la Bretesche: one of France's most beautiful golf courses unfurls its 18 holes over 6015 meters, in the heart of a magnificent wooded park. The course, designed by the legendary Henri Cotton, is set against a backdrop dominated by the towers of the Domaine's château and lake. A 9-hole compact, designed in the same spirit as the course, adds to the fun. It features truly technical and well-defended greens.
The best part? The first hole is literally steps from the hotel entrance. So early in the morning, the course can begin!

Set on the beach in Concarneau, a seafaring town if ever there was one, the golf hotel Les Sables Blancs is just an 11-minute drive from the Cornouailles golf course. Opened in 1930 on Les Sables Blancs beach, the 4-star hotel offers 21 rooms and suites with sea views, most with terraces and some, like the family room or the Glénan Suite, with private Jacuzzi. On your way back from the green, stop off at the restaurant and bar des sables, both with their huge bay windows overlooking the ocean and terraces.

The Cornouailles golf course, whose clubhouse is housed in an 18th-century manor house, is just a short drive from the golf hotel in Brittany. Opened in 1950, the 18-hole course (5682 meters, par 71) borders the bay of La Forêt-Fouesnant, 15 km south of Quimper, and is renowned for its friendly atmosphere.

4. Spa Marin du Val André
Proudly perched above the 2.5-kilometre-long beach, the Spa Marin du Val André boasts 4 stars on its façade and is considered one of Brittany's most cosy spa hotels. It boasts 95 rooms and suites, including sea rooms and deluxe sea rooms overlooking the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, and junior suites overlooking the sea. The clean, uncluttered decor features a contemporary design with no fuss. In the Le "S" restaurant, the tables closest to the bay window have been designed so that those behind can also enjoy the view. On the plate, the focus is on local produce, including scallops, which the chef considers "like a diamond", along with numerous fish specialties. The lounge bar in front of the fireplace offers a fine selection of teas and aperitifs with tapas. And the Spa Marin boasts a 2,000 m² thalasso center overlooking the bay, the perfect place to recharge your batteries after a round of golf.

The Pléneuf-Val-André golf course is one of the jewels in the crown of the Emerald Coast. The Pléneuf course, created in 1992 and designed by Alain Prat, overlooks the Bay of Saint-Brieuc and is a Breton must. Hole number 11, a par 5, has been ranked among the most beautiful in the world.

5. Hôtel Barrière Le Royal La Baule
An iconic Loire-Atlantique hotel par excellence, this flagship of the Barrière group, inaugurated in 1902, recently benefited from a new decor by Chantal Peyrat, inspired by the salt marshes, with a broad palette of beige, blue and white. These tones can be found in the 72 rooms and 15 suites, among which we have a soft spot for the junior suite mer: 40m2 on the top floor, with an attic ceiling and a lovely terrace overlooking the Atlantic. This 5-star hotel has two restaurants: Fouquet's, with a menu designed by Pierre Gagnaire and staged by chef Mikael Amisse, featuring healthy, gluten-free cuisine, and Ponton, by the beach. As for the thalasso at the golf hotel near Brittany, it is reinventing itself and becoming more than ever a true wellness destination, with the Champs-Elysées clinic offering its cutting-edge protocols for the first time in thalasso.

Barrière golf course: 8 km from La Baule, this exceptional golf course covers more than 220 hectares. It offers 45 holes over 3 courses: the 18-hole Lucien Barrière course, the 18-hole Diane Barrière course and the 9-hole François André course, designed by architects Peter Alliss, Dave Thomas and Michel Gayon. Not forgetting the Club House with its breathtaking view of the greens.
