Our selection of hotels in Dinard for a seaside wellness break

The editorial team takes you to Dinard, in north-east Brittany on the Emerald Coast, to discover hotels for a seaside wellness break. A selection.

1. Hôtel Barrière Le Grand Hôtel Dinard

A landmark on the Emerald Coast since its inauguration in 1858, Le Grand Hôtel Dinard continues to embody the prestige of the Breton seaside resort. Overlooking the bay, with one of the best panoramic views of Saint-Malo, this Barrière Group-owned establishment underwent a facelift in 2018 and is now in pole position for a seaside wellness break.

Interior designer Alexandre Danan has sublimated the seaside hotel, combining the splendor of the Belle Époque with touches of modernity, playing on luminous hues that capture the soft marine clarity of the region. Right from the entrance, history is revealed through elegant moldings and a period elevator, recalling the aristocratic past of Dinard, once dubbed the "Breton Brighton". With its 86 exquisitely decorated rooms and suites, some with private balconies where you can breathe in the sea breeze, Le Grand Hôtel offers spectacular views over the gardens or the English Channel.

Chef Wilfried Lacaille's George V, a gourmet restaurant, offers subtle, daring, iodized cuisine rooted in local produce. The dining room, bathed in natural light thanks to its large bay windows, offers an enchanting setting for savoring dishes such as bluefin tuna tartare or Kouign Amann, prepared according to the rules of the art, while admiring the breathtaking panorama of the Baie de la Vicomté. The show is at its best at sunset, when the golden light magnifies the ramparts of Saint-Malo, making the restaurant a truly romantic setting. Guests can extend their Breton experience at the Spa Diane Barrière, a bubble of well-being imagined by Chantal Peyrat, where a range of top-of-the-range treatments is offered with the prestigious Ligne St Barth and Biologique Recherche products: slimming treatments, detoxifying treatments with essential oils, oxygenating facial treatments... This haven of peace by the sea is also equipped with a heated indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a hammam and electric bikes for exploring the surrounding area with the whole family. Children are also catered for at the Le Studio by Petit VIP kids club, which welcomes toddlers aged 4 and over for fun and educational workshops on art, cinema, photography...
