Les Manoirs de Tourgéville, a “cocooning” Normandy getaway
In the heart of the Normandy bocage, near Deauville and Honfleur, Les Manoirs de Tourgéville offers guests the promise of a chic, bucolic interlude. An ideal setting to reconnect with nature for a weekend with family, friends or lovers. The hotel has just unveiled its new restaurant “1899”, let’s discover.
Les Manoirs de Tourgéville is to Deauville what the Byblos is to Saint-Tropez: one of the Floirat group’s jewels in the crown, but also an iconic address for celebrities and travelers in search of the exceptional. Nestled in a verdant setting, the hotel cultivates the cosy, convivial atmosphere of a true family home, combined with the quality of welcome and excellence of a 4-star luxury hotel.
The pitch | Les Manoirs de Tourgéville, a setting imbued with the spirit of the 7th art
The history of Les Manoirs de Tourgéville is steeped in the spirit of French cinema. In 1978, Claude Lelouch had the main building built as a set for a film. Although the film was never shot, the filmmaker kept the property as an artists' residence, before selling it in 2010 to the Floirat group (Byblos in Saint-Tropez, La Réserve in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, etc.). Transformed into a 4-star hotel, the property continues to maintain a close link with the world of the 7th art, and welcomes stars from the big and small screens looking for an intimate refuge to stay during the Deauville Film Festival, and throughout the year. Above all, Claude Lelouch's legacy lives on in an impressive 50-seat cinema, where hotel guests can enjoy their favorite films for a private screening.
Les Manoirs de Tourgéville | How is the hotel?
A veritable cocoon of charm hidden away in the heart of the Normandy countryside, Les Manoirs de Tourgéville cultivates an intimate and cosy art of living. Situated not far from the Côte Fleurie, the mythical beaches of Deauville and the port of Honfleur, the property is set in 7 hectares of parkland. It comprises a half-timbered main building typical of Norman architecture, and four round manor houses scattered around the grounds. Inside, the classic, plush decor helps create a warm atmosphere, while celebrating its history with photos of artists and nods to French cinema.
And the bedrooms?
The property has 57 rooms, including 35 suites, all named after famous actors and actresses. The main building features 40m2 duplex and 50 m2 triplex suites, each with a living room and fireplace. Decoratively, they cultivate a warm, authentic charm worthy of the most charming Normandy cottages, with bespoke furnishings and fabrics by Pierre Frey, Dedar or Manuel Canova. In the manor houses, all rooms and suites are decorated in a more contemporary style, with a strong equestrian theme and shades of beige and brown evoking the world of craftsmanship and saddlery. There are also connecting 90m2 suites, ideal for a stay with family or friends. In addition, all the hotel's rooms offer an unobstructed view of the property's grounds, ensuring guests a calm and serene stay.
The gastronomic offer?
It's under the colossal frame of the new 1899 restaurant, now dressed in white and beige tones, that the gourmet score is played out. Behind large, luminous bay windows opening onto the verdant bocage, chef Emmanuel Andrieu's menu at "1899" is bistronomic and evolves with the seasons, with an emphasis on fish and seafood. The menu includes prawns coated in crispy tempura, XXL versions of perfect sole meunière, fillet of Normandy beef with vegetables from the garden, and a burger with apples, andouille de Vire and Pont-l'Evêque, a gourmet tribute to the Normandy region.
In summer, you can enjoy the restaurant's terrace, nestled in the lush greenery of the Manoirs. A barbecue is available every Saturday lunchtime. In winter, the imposing stone fireplace adds an extra touch of warmth and conviviality to the restaurant.
The lounge bar, located in the main building, occupies a singular space within the hotel. The infinitely cosy atmosphere has been refreshed by interior designer Marine Ugo, who has arranged solo seating and modular duo banquettes around steel coffee tables, making it the ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine or a house cocktail, accompanied by a charcuterie or salmon board.
What's important to remember?
The hotel takes great care of its guests. Recently sublimated by Marine Ugo to enhance the feeling of entering a real cocoon, the Le 1899 restaurant and lounge bar are revealed in a new light. Everything is designed to make guests feel "at home", enjoying the comforts of a 5-star hotel in a 4-star setting. These include a huge heated indoor swimming pool, fitness area, Esthederm spa, cinema room, ping-pong table and pétanque court. For guests who wish to do so, the hotel provides free adult and children's bicycles (from April to October), as well as tennis rackets for exchanging a few balls on the dedicated court.
The room to book?
The Jean Dujardin duplex suite located in the main building, and occupied by the actor during his wedding in 2018. Featuring a living room on the first floor and a bedroom upstairs, it cultivates a discreet, cosy charm thanks to its decoration in shades of blue and sand. The ideal setting for absolute relaxation!
Who's it for?
For families or groups of friends looking for a gourmet weekend punctuated by outdoor sporting activities. For couples looking for a chic retreat in the heart of nature to mark a special occasion, or simply to get away for two.
Where is it?
