The best romantic hotels in Deauville

Just two hours from Paris, the Normandy Riviera unfurls its idyllic scenery, white sandy beaches and incomparable joie de vivre all year round, enticing lovers to pay it a visit. Because there’s nothing more romantic than a getaway to Deauville, especially when you choose a hotel in the mood for love..

A huge beach, planks of wood, umbrellas wrapped in colorful scarves; the memory of a man and a woman embracing in Claude Lelouch’s swirling camera… Deauville is all this and much more. Starting with its charming hotels on the Côte Fleurie and Côte de Grâce..

1 - Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville: Deauville's romantic hotel par excellence

A sense of detail combined with excellence. But what else would you expect from an icon? Since its inauguration in 1912, Le Normandy has established itself as the figurehead of luxury hotels on the Côte Fleurie, if not the absolute benchmark for seaside resorts. Its Anglo-Norman manor house silhouette (listed as a cultural heritage site) may evoke a fairy tale, but it's only a prologue to the hotel's dazzling Belle Époque architecture in Deauville. Decorator Jacques Garcia has combined this style with a more timeless touch, adorning the walls of the rooms and suites with toiles de Jouy, a discrepancy as sober as it is subtle. With their delicate pastel colors, they immediately create a tender atmosphere.

Le Normandy is also (and always has been) a meeting place for the stars: from Coco Chanel to Nicole Kidman and Jack Nicholson, the most illustrious talents have strolled through its hushed lounges, dined under the chandelier of its Deauville Belle Époque restaurant or chatted over a house cocktail at its bar... unless they've decided to explore the menu of 147 whiskies? In this relaxing and intimate setting, you can also gaze into the eyes of your opposite number, listening to the suave melody of the piano. And to think that the next day, there's still the Spa, the swimming pool and so many other experiences to enjoy.

Favorite: The Suite Un homme et une femme, of course. Because one of the most beautiful love stories of the 7th Art was filmed here, and a little of its magic still floats between its walls - beyond the photos. Quite simply, the paragon of a romantic stay.

2 - Hôtel du Golf: welcome to the clubs!

This address needs no introduction to fairway enthusiasts: France's golf hotel is inextricably linked to the green that surrounds it, within an exceptional 70-hectare estate nestled on the protected natural site of Mont-Canisy. Designed almost a century ago in a delightful Neo-Norman style by architect George Wybo, the establishment's impressive half-timbered façade continues to fascinate. And rightly so, so much so that it seems to have been designed to offer its guests an interlude of wonder and oxygen. In addition to the legendary Golf Barrière Deauville, with courses designed by Tom Simpson and Henry Cotton, the hotel is home to tennis and padel courts, a heated outdoor pool, a fitness area and the must-have Normandy spa facilities: hammam and sauna.

With its focus on well-being and elegance, the Hôtel du Golf has entrusted its interior beauty to the talents of Chantal Peyrat, who has sublimated the immense volumes in warm tones - the surface areas of the rooms and suites range from 30 to 112m2! As for the options, they are innumerable: sea, country or golf view; with or without balcony, with possibility of communication... Same pleasure at the table of the restaurant Le Lassay - whose immense picture windows open onto the golf course - as well as in the armchairs of the Green, the Scottish club-style bar with walls and floors decorated with vermilion tartans.

Favorite: The Hôtel du Golf provides bicycles for exploring the endless charms of the Côte Fleurie and Normandy countryside. There's nothing like a bucolic stroll for two to brighten up a sunny day..

3 - Cures Marines Trouville - MGallery Collection, romantic hotel in Deauville

In other times, going to the spa was synonymous with austere privations... Let's sweep away these clichés with a stopover at this romantic hotel in Deauville bearing the MGallery Collection label! From the marine cures from which it takes its name, this Normandy hotel has retained the best: the Belle Époque architecture of a heritage building erected in 1912 opposite the seafront and, naturally, the benefits of seawater-inspired treatments in its thalasso area. An ideal setting for rejuvenation at the Spa, in the heated seawater pool, in the hammam or by experiencing the sensory showers... before enjoying a gourmet moment of complicity at La Galerie's table.

In terms of rooms and suites, the 5-star hotel cultivates tranquility as a cardinal virtue. With sea or harbor views, light therapy lamps and Cinq Mondes skincare products, you'll soon feel at home here, and enjoy the most perfect romantic weekend in France... for two

4 - Hotel Le Flaubert: a love story

The Norman novelist was ferocious: in his Dictionnaire des idées reçues, he wrote under the heading "Hôtel": "Only valid in Switzerland." Reality proves him wrong with the latest establishment in the H8 Collection family, named after him. This is not least because the hotel immediately faces the superb beach at Trouville, on the Côte Fleurie, where the young Flaubert fell in love with Elisa Schlésinger in 1836... This "feet in the water" location is not the least of the assets of this splendid building with its half-timbered façade: it also boasts a mischievous mural by poster artist Savignac, whose bright colors have been brought back to life thanks to a recent restoration.

With its unobstructed view of the coastline, Le Flaubert spins the marine metaphor in its predominantly white-and-blue rooms and suites, of delicate classical beauty... and so cozy that they invite you to sleep in from the comfort of a Queen Size or King Size bed. And in the Deluxe Sea Balcony room, you can even choose to have breakfast in bed or on the balcony, facing the immensity of the waves.

Favourite: A nod to the dreamy spirit of the Flaubertian heroine, the bar Le Bovary. Atypical with its cerulean tones and boudoir feel (soft sofas, candelabras, heavy grey curtains protecting you from the outside world...), it's the ideal spot to meet in total intimacy over a hot drink after a stroll on the beach..

5 - Maison Douce Époque: the story continues

"To live happily, let's live hidden", as the saying goes. This is essentially what Maison Douce Époque, a new 5-star hotel in France, proposes. It is located on the heights of Benerville, slightly overlooking the neighboring town of Deauville... and its coastline. Representative of the style of seaside residences of the early 20th-century, this authentic manor house boasts a prestigious history and has welcomed some of the greatest names in high society. In 2023, Emmanuelle Bourgueil acquired the property and transformed it into an upscale hotel, which opened in June 2025.

If its name is anything to go by, Maison Douce Époque confirms it with its rooms and suites, each with a charming (and welcoming) personality. The spirit of the luxury guest house prevails here, thanks to a decor that's always original, emphasizing space and creating an immediate sense of well-being. The park, spa, swimming pool and concierge service, ready to respond to any request to brighten up your stay, complete the picture.

Our favorite : Le Romanesque, a gourmet restaurant in Normandy, where Norman chef Kévin Legoy (who also worked at the Ritz) creates an elegant menu that gets straight to the point: a hymn to the local terroir, of which his 7-sequence "Belle Epoque" menu is the finest interpretation.
