The most beautiful hotels in Porto-Vecchio, Corsica

An overview of the best hotels in Porto-Vecchio. Situated in the south-east of Corsica, the town of Porto-Vecchio, surrounded by the walls of a 16th-century Genoese citadel, has in just a few years become the trendiest town on the Isle of Beauty.

1. Domaine le Mouflon d'Or, mountain side

Nestled in the heights of the unspoilt village of Zonza, on a 19-hectare plot of land planted with Lebanese cedar and chestnut trees in the heart of Corsica's regional nature park, Domaine Le Mouflon d'Or is the mountain region's first 5-star establishment. A member of the demanding Relais & Châteaux family, it shares with its sister house - the Grand Hôtel de Cala Rossa - a heritage of excellence and a deep attachment to the soul of Corsica, a 50-minute drive from Porto Vecchio.

A treasure trove of nature and history, this old building dating from the early 20th century has been redesigned in a casual-chic spirit, blending antiques and made-to-measure creations. The discreet elegance of the place marries the raw strength of the landscape, for a total immersion between reserved luxury and island traditions.

The 20 rooms and suites, all opening onto a breathtaking forest panorama, invite you to relax and unwind. For families wishing to enjoy the privacy and comfort of home, two independent sheepfolds on the edge of the forest - called Caseddu - and measuring up to 110 m² are available for rent.

When it comes to gastronomy, the experience continues at the A Nepita restaurant, where chef Sébastien Chauchat serves refined Corso-Mediterranean cuisine based on local, seasonal produce. And the best part? Gourmet baskets are prepared daily for picnics in the countryside.

For a real detox in the forest, outdoor activities are de rigueur. You can organize hikes along the fitness trail, work up a sweat in the fitness center or take a dip in the estate's heated swimming pool. Between luxury, nature and serenity, Le Mouflon d'Or promises a timeless, authentic and deeply rejuvenating stay.
