1. Hôtel & Spa du Castellet
The spa ? This bubble of serenity, which underwent a facelift in 2016, is one of our favorite spas. A luxurious, soothing and regenerating cocoon, it won the title of " Best Luxury Countryside Spa " in Europe at the World Luxury Spa Awards 2019, and is nominated in 2021 in the " Luxury Romantic Destination Spa " and " Luxury Hotel and Spa " categories. The 700 m2 spa is grandiose and contemporary, with stone, light oak and slate playing the role of accomplice.
An ultra-complete spa
In addition to a wet zone with the classic sauna, hammam, ice fountain and whirlpool baths, the innovative sensory circuit has two special features: a Kneipp channel, where alternating steps in two pools (at 40°C, then 11°C) promotes blood circulation, muscle recovery and boosts the immune system; and a salt grotto, where a 30-minute break recharges the body with minerals. Another highlight: an indoor pool with massaging jets, dedicated exclusively to spa users, flooded with light through large bay windows opening onto the park. The hotel also boasts a second indoor pool and an outdoor pool reserved for hotel guests.
High-level treatments
In the seven treatment cabins, therapists offer Sym Biologic System rituals, as well as more specific treatments. For example, the Massage Signature Détox, an exclusive treatment using one of three in-house oils to eliminate tension and stimulate cellular activity. Maneuvers performed with ceramic accessories, hot for the upper part of the body and cold for the lower part, disturb the senses and accentuate the feeling of zenitude.
Good to know about the hotel? In addition to housing this luxurious spa, the Hôtel & Spa du Castellet (40 min from Marseille and half an hour from La Ciotat or Toulon) is one of the prettiest addresses in the Var. Set in lush greenery, this Provencal-style estate with Tuscan influences epitomizes the gentle southern way of life. Surrounded by umbrella pines, the ochre-fronted buildings house spacious rooms and suites, each opening onto a terrace overlooking the golf course or park.
Le Castellet, one of France's finest restaurants
The 5-star hotel, a Relais & Châteaux member, also owes its reputation to its restaurant, led by chef Fabien Ferré, the youngest 3-Michelin-starred chef in France. Committed to showcasing local produce and driven by an eco-responsible approach, the chef relies on seasonality and favors short circuits. At La Table du Castellet, in a sleek, contemporary setting, he showcases the best of Provence and the Mediterranean. At Bistrot San Felice, the Burgundy-born chef offers a convivial seasonal cuisine, specializing in braise cooking. In summer, under the gazebos at the L'Ephémère restaurant, he offers guests a culinary experience, under the stars, with a new concept every summer.
Golf, tennis, mountain biking... and a racetrack
A golf course (6-hole FFG-approved compact, with Swing Center from age 6), a tennis court in the pine forest, a fitness trail and mountain biking on the 12-hectare park let you enjoy the scents of the garrigue. Nearby, the Paul Ricard circuit awaits thrill-seekers (with a driving school from age 7). In the surrounding area, there's no shortage of places of interest: the picturesque village of Le Castellet, the Bandol AOC vineyards, the Provencal port of Sanary-sur-Mer, the beaches and water sports of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, hiking in the Sainte-Baume massif, the Cassis creeks and the island of Porquerolles.

3. Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo
In Monaco, some luxury hotels dazzle with their opulence, while others charm with their understated elegance. The Hermitage Monte-Carlo Hotel falls into the latter category. More subdued, almost secretive, this Belle Époque gem is tucked away behind a winter garden crowned by an Eiffel-designed dome, where light filters through with a soothing clarity into the salons and galleries. Luxury is expressed through subtle tones, silence, high ceilings, and silky fabrics.

The 262 rooms and suites—many of which feature a balcony, a veranda, or even a private jacuzzi—offer rare panoramic views of the harbor, the Mediterranean, and the Principality’s pastel-colored rooftops. Among the new features, the recently renovated rooms exude contemporary elegance, while the Diamond Duplex Suite—a true 165 m² apartment with an 80 m² terrace—embodies the ultimate expression of romance: a jacuzzi with a view of the Rock and the Prince’s Palace, a bottle of Moët Ice Impérial Rosé, seasonal treats, and even a private photo shoot to immortalize this moment in time.

But the true treasure of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo lies just a few steps below. Direct access to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo—a 6,600 m² sanctuary of well-being—elevates the hotel to another level. Behind vast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, guests will discover a heated seawater pool, a hydrotherapy circuit, saunas, high-tech treatment rooms, and one of the most comprehensive ranges of treatments in Europe. It’s all light, glass, and horizon. Treatments are tailored to individual needs: fitness, anti-aging, sports recovery, nutrition, cryotherapy… On the culinary front, the Hermitage celebrates the art of flavor with its two restaurants helmed by Chef Yannick Alléno: Pavillon Monte-Carlo, which showcases Mediterranean ingredients, and L’Abysse Monte-Carlo, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant where master sushi chef Naoki Kikuchi showcases his expertise. At the heart of the hotel and its winter garden, Limùn and La Mezzanine offer delightful spaces to relax over coffee, a light lunch, or an evening cocktail.

4. Loire Valley Lodges, a unique hotel perched in the trees
The Hotel: At the helm of Loire Valley Lodges, Anne-Caroline Frey envisioned a unique retreat in 2020: a 4-star hotel with understated charm, entirely focused on nature. Less than two hours from Paris, this forest hotel cultivates the delightful illusion of being alone in the world. Highlights include 21 lodges perched 4 meters above the ground, each with a private terrace and jacuzzi; two restaurants, including a gourmet dining experience curated by Thomas Besnault; and an art trail winding through 300 hectares of forest. Not to mention, just a few minutes away by bike, a 30-hectare organic farm growing vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers that supply the restaurants. A nature-inspired hotel that combines a digital detox with an immersive getaway, for a weekend just 2 hours from Paris that’s as inspiring as it is rejuvenating.

The wellness experience: At Loire Valley Lodges, there’s no spa in the traditional sense, but there is an outdoor pool open during the warmer months and a one-of-a-kind wellness offering. Since each lodge is equipped with a private hot tub overlooking the forest (the resort has 21 in total, 8 of which also feature saunas), you begin your peaceful retreat with a bath in nature—literally! You continue your relaxation with an in-room treatment: a Japanese facial massage, a custom “h’être unique” massage, or a forest massage to rebalance your energies with essential oils derived from the forest’s trees… there’s something for everyone. And since well-being also involves the mind, you can meditate in the heart of the Zome during a sound therapy session, or during a guided relaxation session in the lodge. To enjoy the forest, you can also take part in tai chi sessions, group walks, or “Randolyrics” led by Vincent Karche.
Good to know: Some lodges are decorated by renowned artists, offering a wellness and art experience in nature. In 2026, three new lodges were added to enhance the experience: “Into The Wild,” designed by Anne-Caroline Frey; “Reflets,” conceived by David Sitbon; and “Ride my Bike,” created by Thalia Lempert.
