3. Auberge du Bois Prin, Chamonix

Located at the foot of Mont Blanc, Emmanuel Renaut and his wife's Chamonix establishment has everything to delight lovers of wide-open spaces and mountain walks. In particular, the Mont-Blanc, which can be enjoyed to the full, even more so if you have a balcony. With such a tête-à-tête, it's easy to become contemplative.

Favourite: How could you not succumb to the culinary delights of Emmanuel Renaut (MOF 2004 and 3 Michelin stars for Flocons de sel in Megève)? Dare we say it, it's one of the reasons to stop off at the Auberge du Bois Prin. Headed by chef Quentin Veyrat, the restaurant offers local menus from Wednesday to Sunday, and a terrace with a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc. Simply irresistible.

4. Abbaye de Talloires

In Haute-Savoie, the immensity of Lake Geneva should not mask the existence of a considerable number of lakes. Starting with Annecy, whose peaceful shores are home to some very fine addresses, particularly in the bay on the eastern side, such as the Abbaye de Talloires.
