Castel Clara Thalasso & Spa 4 stars, Belle-Ile-en-Mer
What's the hotel like? This is one of Brittany's most desirable spa hotels, set on the wild coast of Belle-île-en-mer, overlooking the picturesque Baie de Goulphar. Just 50 minutes by boat from the mainland, this peaceful, top-of-the-range refuge, a member of the Relais et Châteaux family, is prized by spa guests for its thalassotherapy center, as well as by lovers of friendly, attentive service... and breathtaking panoramas! Quietude and discretion surround the stay in the two Belliloise-inspired buildings housing bright rooms and suites - most with balcony or terrace - with a casual-chic seaside style. The table of Castel Clara is part of a memorable epicurean experience, with contrasting Breton recipes, from far-flung spices to seasonal local produce, from 180°, a gastronomic address renowned throughout the island.
What's the spa like? Welcome after a few swims in the heated indoor seawater pool, or in the outdoor pool (also heated), the rituals of the Spa by Nuxe boost relaxation with an extensive menu of invigorating and relaxing massages, "Fondamental", "Détoxifiant Bio" or "d'Exception" facial treatments, the perfect combo consisting of opting for an "Escapade Prodigieuse" combining two proposals from among massages, facials and body treatments.

Hôtel Barrière Le Grand Hôtel Dinard
Dinard's first hotel, built in 1858, Le Grand Hôtel overlooks the sea, just a stone's throw from the famous Clair de lune promenade, and has seen all the world's beautiful people pass through its salons! This legendary 5-star hotel, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, was acquired by the Barrière group some twenty years ago. Behind granite walls embellished with white stone, the new decor by Alexandre Danan features 86 rooms and suites and public areas in shades of green, blue and sand, punctuated by Second Empire furniture in a nod to the hotel's inaugural year. In the George V restaurant, chef Wilfried Lacaille's menu features local and seafood products: pan-fried squid, red tuna tartare and a competition Kouign amann. All this while admiring the view of the bay and the ramparts of the city of Saint-Malo, a breathtaking sight at sunset.
At the 333 Café, with its decor inspired by the film “The Vikings”, shot near Dinard in 1957, a simple menu offers Cancale oysters, a variety of platters, a cheese platter... Don't miss the 333 cocktail, a favorite of Kirk Douglas during his stay for the filming of “The Vikings”.
The spa: the Spa Diane Barrière, designed by Chantal Peyrat, boasts 300 m2, a 28°C pool and a large solarium terrace. Here you can enjoy treatments bearing the colors of two well-known brands in the world of well-being: Biologique Recherche and Ligne St Barth.

Castelbrac 5-star and spa in Dinard
What's the hotel like? Its cliffside Scottish castle silhouette dominates the Baie du Prieuré of this seaside resort renowned for its bourgeois charm and majestic Belle Epoque villas. Successively a private residence - the Villa Bric-à-Brac, built by the Faber family, the same who founded Dinard - a Natural History Museum and the town's aquarium in the 1930s, since 2015 the Castelbrac has been a boutique hotel with a singular character, combining subtle Art Deco style, contemporary furniture and marine touches. Each room is different, and most have a terrace, opening onto the sea and its striking panoramas, which change with the tides. A promenade along the waves in front of the hotel, a swimming corridor overlooking the waves, the Charcot lounge/library (the former office of the famous commander and polar explorer) looking out over the ocean: everything here inspires serenity and rejuvenation.
In fact, the hotel's signature phrase is "Soul Haven". A unique privilege, the hotel has its own private wooden boat, the Fou de Bassan, which lends itself to all kinds of experiences at sea: breakfast, picnic, aperitif, etc. In the evening, cocktails are a must at L'Aquarium, a bar straight out of a marine adventure novel, with its portholes, fish motifs, waves and scales. Then it's on to Le Pourquoi Pas, a Michelin-starred restaurant with a panoramic view over Saint-Malo Bay, named in homage to Commandant Charcot's ship. Chef Julien Hennote, a Breton committed to working closely with local artisans and producers, cultivates hyper-seasonality with his tribute dishes inspired by the sea and all the richness of the terroir.
What's the hotel spa like? Intimate and exclusive. It exudes a special energy, both soothing and invigorating, echoing its surroundings. Two wellness suites pamper face, body and spirit, each with its own philosophy. The Spa-suite by Thémaé focuses its world of treatments on the benefits of tea. Rituals begin with a welcome ceremony to help you let go. Orchestrated in three phases, the "ceremonies" treatments offer 90 minutes of well-being from head to toe, while the 100% customized Premium Massage bases its rhythm, pressure, gestures and zones to be favored on a highly personalized initial diagnosis. The Spa-Suite Gemology offers remineralizing face and body treatments using precious and semi-precious stone formulas.

Miramar La Cigale 5 star Hotel Thalasso & Spa in Brittany, Port du Crouesty
What's the hotel like? Set on a seawater lake at the entrance to the Golfe du Morbihan, a link between the ocean and the Rhuys peninsula, the 5-star Miramar La Cigale will appeal to lovers of untamed nature and uncluttered horizons. All bridges and walkways, bathed in light thanks to its immense bay windows, it promises a real breath of iodized oxygen for its lucky visitors. An excellent starting point for sampling the atmosphere of the Gulf islands (Belle-île, Houat...) and unlocking the secret of the megaliths, it's also the ideal address for settling down and staying put, except for treading the sands of the long Fogeo beach.
Comfort, cocooning and a soft marine ambience color the rooms and suites, to which are added 24 well-equipped luxury apartments for an exclusive stay for two or for the whole family. On the fourth floor of the hotel, with a breathtaking view, the Safran restaurant offers a gourmet and locavore menu, combining land and sea. A Breton buffet on Thursday evenings, a fisherman's buffet on Sunday evenings with an assortment of seafood, smoked and marinated wild fish... titillate the palate without guilt. At Le Goëland bar, also boasting a splendid ocean view, the pastry chef's tea time precedes an aperitif featuring creative cocktails and custom-made inspirations.
What's the spa like? It's in no way inferior to the thalasso area, which offers some of the most comprehensive facilities in southern Brittany. The spa's mineral decor features cascading showers, bubble baths and loungers, sauna, hammam and treatment cabins with large portholes, like a connection with the surrounding marine environment. Thai, Kobido, Balinese, hot stone, Taoist... over twenty massages from around the world are offered by the team of practitioners, including of course a signature massage, the Odyssée Miramar, a personalized ritual with vegetable oils. A very relaxing experience, combining a scrub at the scrub bar to eliminate dead skin cells, followed by a soothing body wrap. On the face side, treatments are provided with cutting-edge products (notably anti-aging) from Skinceuticals, the benchmark medispa brand in the USA, and the Thalgo range, renowned for over 50 years for its revitalizing marine protocols and formulas bursting with active ingredients from the sea. A personalized skin diagnosis will precede a customized treatment.

La Grée des Landes, Yves Rocher 4-star spa eco-hotel, La Gacilly
What's the hotel like? When Yves Rocher, founder of the famous eponymous beauty brand, created this eco-hotel on his native land in 2009, the concept caused a sensation. A haven of tranquillity entirely turned towards nature, an open-air art gallery, a biodiversity paradise populated by foxes, badgers, rabbits, 48 species of birds..., it was the first 100% eco-designed hotel, now certified High Environmental Quality, with Green Globe and European Ecolabel labels. Green roofs, photovoltaic panels, wood-fired boilers, natural coatings, filtering gardens... this address is a benchmark. In the spirit of a "maison d'hôte", cultivating the art of taking one's time and recharging one's batteries as the seasons go by, this 4-star hotel houses soothing rooms turned towards nature with their beautiful terraces, plant-filled suites in the heart of the park, and even a perched hut for an exclusive chic robinsonnade. Fabien Manzoni, chef of the Les Jardins Sauvages gourmet restaurant, has been awarded a Michelin green star for his daily commitment to a virtuous approach to cooking. He draws inspiration from the surrounding nature and the in-house kitchen garden to create seasonal, organic, locavore cuisine with a focus on plants.
What's the spa like? Much more than a cosmetic experience, it's a unique sensory interlude. An infinity pool overlooking the horizon, a hammam, a flower bath, infusions... are all preludes to the Grands Rituels de Beauté, lasting almost two hours, dedicated to the whole body, for deep relaxation. From June to September, a hut perched in a century-old cypress tree is the setting for protocols specially designed for this weightless bubble of well-being. Here, wellness finds a formidable field of expression, with classes in yoga, pilates, sophrology..
