The best hotels for a wedding anniversary
There are places that know how to suspend time, thanks to a beautiful light at the end of the day, a dinner that lasts or a landscape that remains engraved. From vineyards to the ocean, from forests to the Mediterranean, Yonder has selected five hotels perfect for celebrating a wedding anniversary in style.

1. Loire Valley Lodges | A moment suspended in an intimate lodge
Who's it for? Art-sensitive couples looking for a unique retreat in the heart of nature to celebrate something as special as a wedding anniversary.

The hotel? Less than two hours from Paris, Loire Valley Lodges is set in 300 hectares of forest and meadows. Here, each lodge cultivates its own identity, imagined by contemporary artists. Aromatic gardens, forests, beehives and vegetable gardens are all part of the experience, right down to the plate. There are two dining options: Ardent, chef Thomas Besnault's gourmet restaurant (Michelin 2024 selection), and Asperatus, the ephemeral outdoor wood-fired restaurant. On request, dinner can also be enjoyed directly in the lodge.
The rooms? These wooden ecolodges, perched on stilts four meters above sea level, are veritable cocoons. Each room has its own identity, with raw wood, enveloping textiles and plant-based hues. In one, contemporary artworks add an arty touch, while in another, a terrace opens onto the trees. But comfort is not forgotten: king-size bed, walk-in shower, safe or minibar... To our knowledge, this is the only hotel to offer 21 private Jacuzzis on lodge terraces, as well as a Nordic bath and eight saunas.

We love: the feeling of being out of time, walking together, enjoying the spa or a gourmet dinner. The Sylvestre massage, a unique treatment combining leaves, flowers and essential oils from the forest. And then there's the Arbre à Vœux: write a wish on a ribbon, hang it from the branches and let its story become part of the place. A small gesture that makes all the difference for a wedding anniversary.

2. Royal Champagne | An escape in the vineyards
Who's it for? Epicurean couples looking for a spectacular setting, a hotel to celebrate their wedding anniversary with creative cuisine and great champagnes.
The hotel? The Royal Champagne Hôtel & Spa is located in the Marne Valley. On one side, a former coaching inn steeped in history, where kings of France and emperors passed through. On the other, contemporary architecture with graphic lines, conceived as an amphitheatre turned towards the landscape.

At this 5-star hotel in Champagne, everything revolves around the Champagne art of living. The gastronomic table orchestrated by chef Christophe Raoux celebrates the product with precision, while the brasserie Le Bellevue invites you to linger in front of the setting sun. The Salon Fines Bulles offers cutting-edge tastings, alternating between the great houses and confidential winemakers. The spa, a vast 1,500 m² showcase, extends the experience, with its hushed cabins, indoor and outdoor pools and treatment suites for two. Away from the spa, strolls through the Champagne vineyards, cellar tours, picnics or even a hot-air balloon flight are all part of an à la carte stay.

The rooms? All suites face the same direction: the vineyards. Behind the large picture windows, nature becomes a living backdrop, changing from sunrise to sunset. Light wood, limestone, delicate fabrics..

Decorator Sybille de Margerie has imagined luminous spaces inspired by the nuances of the vineyards. The details are perfectly mastered: sculpted bathtubs, trunk-style dressing rooms, bespoke furniture and discreet home automation. And then there are the terraces, conceived as true extensions of the rooms, where all you want to do is linger in front of the landscape.
We love: the feeling of being alone in the world, facing a seemingly endless valley. The romantic duo massage followed by a dip in the outdoor pool. The gourmet dinner that stretches out, accompanied by great vintages.

3. Les Sources de Caudalie | The hotel for a wedding anniversary in the vineyards
Who's it for? Couples who appreciate a place where luxury meets nature. Those who enjoy a grand dinner as much as a bike ride through the vineyards.

The hotel? Just a few kilometers from Bordeaux, in the heart of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte estate, you'll find Les Sources de Caudalie. More than a hotel in the vineyards, it's a hamlet. Aquitaine-inspired houses linked by paths, gardens and water features. Between the old wood, stone and reclaimed materials, the place seems to have always existed, as if melted into the landscape.
At the table, chef Nicolas Masse's cuisine is rooted in the terroir, and has been awarded two stars at La Grand'Vigne. Simpler, more earthy, La Table du Lavoir re-enacts local history in a revisited old building. The spa remains one of the pillars of the experience. Treatments based on grapes and vine extracts are a must, after a moment of relaxation in the majestic indoor pool. All around, vineyards, forest, beehives, vegetable garden: here, nature dominates.

The rooms? Each room tells a different story, but all share the same approach. Second-hand furniture, custom-made objects, natural materials, artisanal details... The spaces are warm, almost familiar. Palettes oscillate between mineral tones and vegetal nuances, like an extension of the outdoor landscape. Some suites go even further, like L'Île aux Oiseaux, revisited by guest designers over the years.

We love: the feeling of a family home where everything is perfectly orchestrated. The gentle start to the morning, between the garden and the vines. The spa after a wine tasting, the Michelin-starred dinner that you'll remember for a long time. Celebrating a wedding anniversary during a nature weekend in such a setting immediately takes on another dimension.

4. COMO Le Beauvallon | The Riviera's new-found elegance
Who's it for? Couples who love the charm of the South of France, who want to make their mark in a place steeped in history, with just the right blend of glamour and easy living.

The hotel? This hotel near Saint-Tropez recaptures the spirit of the Côte d'Azur's heyday. This Belle Époque palace, set in four hectares of Mediterranean gardens, faces the sea. In the morning, you descend to the pool, almost at water level, then to the private pontoon from which you can reach Saint-Tropez in just a few minutes by boat. Lunch is served on the terrace, in the garden or at the beach club, always facing the bay. Sunny at lunchtime, more intimate in the evening: the cuisine, orchestrated by Yannick Alléno, follows the rhythm of the day. In the afternoon, head to the COMO Shambhala areas, dedicated to holistic therapies and treatments inspired by their prestigious Balinese establishment, for an exceptional moment for two.
The rooms? The 42 rooms and suites are designed in the style of a private home, each with its own character through a selection of contemporary artworks and carefully chosen furnishings. Some overlook the hills, others the gulf. The suites, on the other hand, offer a panorama you'll never tire of, from dawn to dusk.

We love: The almost cinematic arrival by boat. The swimming pool just a few steps from the sea. The dinners with the lights of Saint-Tropez as a backdrop. And that rare feeling of being in a hotel on the Côte d'Azur that has managed to retain its share of privacy.

5. La Borde en Sologne | A family castle in a preserved area
Who's it for? Couples who appreciate the charm of an elegant château, and who want to celebrate their wedding anniversary in a refined, lively setting that immediately makes you feel at home.
The hotel? In Vernou-en-Sologne, in the midst of 40 hectares of vegetation, this red-brick and slate château, built in the middle of the XVIIIᵉ century, seems to sit facing a long mirror of water. Carefully restored, the La Borde mansion has regained its lustre without losing any of its soul. Inside, the codes of the château are all there - volumes, fireplaces, moldings - but are reinterpreted with a more contemporary touch. The stay is organized around simple pleasures. A dinner at the hotel's Mémoire restaurant in Sologne, where the chef works closely with the vegetable garden, a visit to the spa in the former orangery, or a stroll in the large park: everything is an excuse to take your time.

The rooms? Spread between the château and the outbuildings, each of the 35 rooms and suites has its own personality. Herringbone parquet flooring, antique pieces, patterned fabrics, antique fireplaces, designer lighting... The decor is warm and inviting. Some rooms are even more surprising, such as the Écuries suite, where former stables have been transformed into sleeping quarters, retaining their original wooden doors and structures. Nothing is standardized, and that's precisely what makes it so charming.

We love: the rare sensation of sleeping in a listed château. The walks in the park, between pond and undergrowth, the interlude at the spa after a day's walking, the dinner that stretches out a little. And then there's the intimate atmosphere, ideal for marking a wedding anniversary without overdoing it.
