Maison Carita in Paris: an apartment you can rent out for a day of beauty treatments

A place to live, away from it all

We were invited there for a dinner hosted by Chef Amandine Chaignot. The space functions like a real apartment, completely separate from the rest of the house: a living room, a dining room, a dedicated hair salon, and a private treatment room. In the hair salon, you’ll find the expertise of the team led by David Lucas, Carita’s international “Hair” ambassador. The dining room can seat up to 11 guests (though the house recommends limiting the number to 8–10 to ensure everyone’s comfort), while the living room can accommodate 5 to 6 people in a more relaxed setting.

Everything is customized based on the duration of the private booking (half-day, full day, or longer) and the desired services: facials or body treatments, hair styling, catering, butler service… There are no fixed packages or standard rates: each request is quoted individually. To give an idea of the price point, the salon suggests a budget comparable to that of a deluxe room in a luxury hotel or spa hotel in Paris. This comparison immediately highlights the level of exclusivity of this premier location.

Amandine Chaignot's Signature Style

Since the house reopened in 2022, Chef Amandine Chaignot—a leading figure in the Parisian gastronomic scene, best known for her restaurant Pouliche in the 10th arrondissement—has been collaborating with Carita. She is the one who conceived the entire menu for the Rosy & Maria restaurant, located on the second floor of the house: a menu that changes with the seasons, offering healthy, refined, and indulgent cuisine, which is also available as an optional add-on in the apartment. The chef herself does not work in the kitchen on a daily basis for private events, reserving her presence there for special occasions; the rest of the time, her team takes over, staying true to the spirit and high standards of her menu.

The restaurant operates completely independently: you can certainly come here for lunch without having booked a treatment. The menu, despite its prestigious name, features prices that are quite reasonable for the neighborhood. You can just as easily grab a bite between appointments, or have your meal served directly in the adjoining hair salon—which is convenient when your schedule doesn’t allow time to go elsewhere for lunch.

Who is it for?

In theory, the apartment is open to everyone, based on the concept of à la carte privatization, even though the price remains decidedly high-end. It’s easy to imagine a couple looking for a romantic getaway, followed by a private lunch or dinner, or a group of friends gathering for a bachelorette party or a birthday celebration, or even a company hosting a seminar in Paris or a chic event away from prying eyes. The true luxury here lies as much in the list of amenities as in the promise of a space entirely to yourself, separated from the rest of the house.

Our Opinion

What strikes you when you discover this place is how it embodies, on the scale of an apartment, the holistic beauty philosophy championed by Maria and Rosy Carita since the 1950s: caring for the body, hair, and appetite all at once. Long overshadowed by the restaurant, the hair salon, and the treatment rooms, this space could well become the new—and very Parisian—way to experience Carita, provided you can afford it.
