Côte d’Azur: Tiara Miramar, a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean at Théoule-sur-Mer
Overlooking the Mediterranean at Théoule-sur-Mer, the Tiara Miramar, a five-star member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, was built in the 1930s and completely renovated a few years ago. It’s one of those addresses whispered about by insiders..
The pitch | Tiara Miramar, a balcony overlooking the sea
Here's a five-star hotel with pride of place: the second azure jewel of the Tiara brand, just twenty minutes from Cannes, this seaside hotel erects its pink-gray façade - one of the colors permitted on the coast - studded with balconies and terraces, above a private cove. Surrounding the Tiara Miramar, the red rocks of the Esterel slope down to the blue of the Mediterranean. Terraced gardens punctuated by deckchairs from which to admire the landscape provide the ultimate glamorous touch.
Tiara Miramar | First impressions
From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed as if into a friendly home. The formalities are carried out comfortably seated in the heart of the lobby, which, with its dark oak frames accented with sandy beige and its wide, graphic wooden armchairs, has an undeniable 1930s cachet.
What are the rooms like?
The 59 rooms and suites of this hotel on the French Riviera are warmly decorated with oriental accents: airy sheers, gold and fuchsia colors, moucharabiehs dispensing beautifully openworked light, sculpted furniture... 80% of them offer a view of the Grande Bleue. Of particular note is the magnificent 210m2 Miramar Suite on the fourth floor.
Good to know? This Côte d'Azur hotel has a 170m2 villa nestled among oleanders and umbrella pines. It has three bedrooms and can accommodate six people. Ideal for those who want to combine the pleasure of being "at home" with friends or family with the infrastructure of a five-star hotel.
Gastronomy?
Alain Montigny has taken over the kitchens at the Tiara hotels. This chef, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and holder of a star since 2021 for L'Or Bleu, the gourmet restaurant at neighboring Tiara Yaktsa, trained with Christian Constant and Eric Frechon. He respects the seasons and favors seafood for a cuisine rich in local color. At MoYa, the Miramar's waterside restaurant, he treats us at lunchtime to inventive, well-crafted salads or magnificent grilled fish, while in the evening the more extensive menu takes on both terrestrial and marine accents.
The wellness offer?
One of the nuggets of this seaside hotel is the Sothys spa. Spread over two floors, it offers 4 treatment cabins, one of which is double, in a décor of ochre and gold. Highly recommended are massages from all over the world: Swedish, Oriental, Thai or Hawaiian... among which we confess to a soft spot for the Ayurvedic massage that rebalances the body's energies. A fitness room completes the offering of this top-flight wellness center.
