Less than an hour from the hustle and bustle of Paris, the Hôtel Barrière Enghien-les-Bains is the ideal destination for a spa weekend just a stone's throw from the capital. As soon as dawn breaks, draw the curtains of your room and you'll find a setting worthy of the most romantic lakeshores, with the Montmorency forest stretching to the horizon. At the heart of this spa hotel near Paris, the two-storey, 3,500 m² Diane Barrière spa is a sanctuary of well-being, linked directly to the hotel by a heated walkway. Everything here is designed to help you let go. Two pools, one of them semi-Olympic, are bathed in light thanks to immense picture windows. These alternate between whirlpool baths, water trails, steam rooms, saunas and relaxation areas. In the cabins, treatments range from oriental to more classical inspirations, with a menu combining massages, beauty rituals and customized programs. In the evening, you can extend the experience at the nearby casino or dine overlooking the lake in one of the establishment's restaurants. All in all, a truly rejuvenating spa weekend for one or two.

2. La Licorne Hôtel & Spa in Troyes: Sothys expertise

Located in the city center, this 5-star MGallery-branded boutique hotel is housed in a former gendarmerie barracks on the banks of the Seine. The historic building has been transformed into a showcase of relaxed luxury, with 54 classically styled rooms and suites on 3 floors, a bar/smoking room, a Sothys spa and a gym.

Built on the site of Troyes' ancient Gallo-Roman thermal baths, this Bali stone spa cultivates a hushed, intimate atmosphere. Heated pool, sauna, hammam, sensory showers, ice fountain... it's all here, in a concentrated but complete format, ideal for a spa weekend. When it comes to treatments, Sothys expertise makes all the difference. The French brand, a benchmark in institutes, creates personalized protocols that combine sensoriality with effectiveness. Our favorite is the intensive youth treatment, which combines peptides, saffron extracts and sophora japonica to boost collagen production and soothe the signs of oxidative stress. Bluffing.

3. Royal Champagne: a spa weekend overlooking the vines

Just a stone's throw from Épernay, the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa has established itself as one of the finest addresses for a spa weekend in France. Set in the hills above Champagne, this former post house dating from the Napoleonic era has been completely redesigned after four years of renovation. It is now one of, if not THE most beautiful 5-star hotel in Champagne. Behind the rebirth of this undisputed Champagne gem is a duo of passionate Americans and architect Giovanni Pace, who sculpted a luminous 10,000 m² building from the white stone of Euville. The result is a masterly, uncluttered and contemporary setting between sky and vine.

Most of the 47 rooms and suites have balconies overlooking the vineyards, and feature a clean, beige decor by Sybille de Margerie. The atmosphere is soft, the space fluid, and you immediately feel at home. The spa, bathed in light, offers a wide range of treatments, an indoor and outdoor pool, a hammam and a fitness room with a view. The rose garden and kitchen garden extend the sensory experience to the discreet outdoors.

When it comes to dining, this address doesn't disappoint. Chef Christophe Raoux (MOF 2015) heads the Michelin-starred Le Royal restaurant, where dishes honor local produce: crispy pigeon, matured beef or rhubarb with green tea, by Claire Santos Lopes. An experience worthy of the site, between refinement and territorial roots. Perfect for those dreaming of a spa weekend in France combining well-being, gastronomy and wide-angle views.

4. Hôtel Royal - Evian resort: a historic jewel on the shores of Lake Geneva

Set against the backdrop of the Alps, the Hotel Royal - Evian resort is a veritable institution. Built in 1909 as a tribute to King Edward VII, this century-old palace has stood the test of time without losing any of its elegance, and remains one of the finest hotels on Lake Geneva. In 2015, a major renovation by architect François Champsaur breathed new life and coherence into the 118 rooms and 32 suites, where noble materials (light wood, stone, leather) meet a soft palette of grays, creams and pastel blues. Many have balconies overlooking the lake or the Alps, a natural extension of the soothing decor.

The Royal's spa, redesigned in 2024, takes the wellness experience to the next level. Spread over 1,700 m², it combines comfort, technology and immersion in the landscape: large indoor pool, outdoor infinity pool facing the lake, hammam, sauna, cold bath, rest area, as well as a snow cellar - rare in France - to stimulate circulation after a treatment. In the cabin, protocols are based on the virtues of the lake's pure waters, combined with holistic approaches for in-depth relaxation.

A few minutes from the city center and nestled in the vineyards, Domaine de Verchant, a charming hotel in Occitanie, combines history with contemporary elegance. Signature furnishings, luminous volumes, noble materials: each space reflects a demanding idea of hospitality.

It's also one of France's finest spots for a spa weekend. The estate's spa, 2,000 m² entirely dedicated to care and relaxation, offers a refined, mineral universe. Marble mingles with white stone, geometric mosaics dialogue with stainless steel and glass, creating a contemporary yet soothing atmosphere. Between indoor and outdoor pools, steam rooms, saunas, sensory showers and treatment rooms, the experience unfolds in silence and light. The menu, centered on expert, personalized treatments by Valmont and Biologique, pays tribute not only to the art of letting go, but also to technological expertise, thanks to new machines that are virtually exclusive to France.

Domaine de Verchant also embodies a certain idea of responsible luxury. From the selection of eco-designed cosmetics to the charging stations for electric vehicles, every detail reflects a clear commitment to the environment. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, this discreet oasis cultivates a taste for the essential in a preserved natural setting.

6. Fleur de Loire: relaxation and fine dining

In Blois, Fleur de Loire embodies an ideal destination for a spa weekend in France. This 5-star Relais & Châteaux, housed in a former 17th-century hospice, has been transformed by two-starred chef Christophe Hay into an emblematic spa hotel in the Loire Valley. A blend of heritage and contemporary design, the address blends understated elegance with local roots. Opening in 2022, it boasts 44 rooms including 11 suites decorated by Caroline Tissier, where natural materials, aquatic tones and references to the river create a universe both soothing and singular. A choice stopover among the finest hotels near the Châteaux de la Loire. The beating heart of the hotel, the 500 m² Sisley spa overlooks the Loire and offers a complete wellness experience: 15 m indoor pool, whirlpool bath, sauna, hammam, outdoor pool and herbal tea room, not to mention five treatment rooms, one of which is a duo, and the exclusive "Fleur de Loire" protocol. The whole setting exudes a gentle, regenerating atmosphere.

On the dining side, the two restaurants reflect the chef's committed vision. The gastronomic Christophe Hay sublimates local produce: permaculture vegetables, Loire fish, Sologne caviar, in a clear and demanding cuisine. The more relaxed Amour Blanc bistro extends the flavors in a locavore spirit. Unquestionably two of the best restaurants in Blois. Both a place to recharge your batteries and a gastronomic destination, Fleur de Loire is the perfect setting for a spa weekend in France's Loire Valley.

The wellness offer is in two parts. But Le Saint-Gervais Hotel & Spa has another surprise in store for its wellness-loving clientele: for every reservation, an entry is offered to the Thermes de Saint-Gervais. At the foot of the Bonnant Gorge, this mecca of spa tourism has been attracting visitors since 1807 to enjoy the benefits of naturally heated, mineral-rich water at 39°. A veritable Mecca of well-being, with pools, saunas, steam baths, herbal tea room.

The program: a timeless interlude a stone's throw from Paris, in a 360 m2 spa bathed in light and open to nature. Le Refuge de la Reine Margot, designed in collaboration with Anne Sémonin, a French company specializing in vegan skincare with natural active ingredients, invites you to slow down. From the swimming pool, sauna or hammam, savour the calm before a treatment or yoga session, whether yin, vinyasa or hatha flow, to realign body and mind. Just a few minutes' walk away, the Ichikawa Japanese Garden extends this serene experience. Created as a tribute to the Japanese town twinned with Issy-les-Moulineaux, this green haven celebrates the Nipponese philosophy of landscape: stones of eternity, pebbles like so many islets, gravel in a metaphorical sea, waterfall, pond and mineral beach weave a subtle ode to impermanence and contemplation.
