The top spa hotels in Saint-Tropez
Rising from obscurity in the 50s and 60s, this small fishing village is now synonymous with glamour and a vibrant nightlife. Alongside the cosmopolitan crowds that flock here, there are a few luxurious nuggets where you can recharge your batteries. YONDER has selected the top spa hotels on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

1. Villa Marie Saint-Tropez | A confidential spa hotel in the pine forest
Nestled in a luminous pine forest overlooking Pampelonne, this 5-star hotel in Saint-Tropez belongs to that rare category: a charming address where views over the bay and absolute calm coexist with proximity to beaches, festive addresses and the hustle and bustle of the village. The house, designed like a large Italian villa, exudes a soft Riviera feel throughout: terracotta colors, hand-crafted frescoes, rooms opening onto the trees, terraces bathed in light. An atmosphere that's chic, family-friendly and timeless, one of the Sibuet family's most recognizable signatures.

This is the setting for the Pure Altitude spa, one of the most intimate wellness worlds in Saint-Tropez. Here, the focus is not on the spectacular, but on a truly rejuvenating interlude. Just three cabins, enveloped in the scents of rose, jasmine and pine, offer entirely personalized treatments: deep massages that blend Alpine techniques with Mediterranean influences, after-sun rituals with neroli to soothe the skin after a day on the beach, revitalizing protocols with mountain plants, a nod to the Sibuet family's Megève DNA, or warm shell massages to release every last ounce of tension.
Further down, a heated swimming pool, dug directly into the rock and set above the sea, extends this tête-à-tête with the elements. The celadon-blue water reflects the pine trees, deckchairs shelter in the shade, and cicadas punctuate long, lazy swims. The place has something of a Riviera lagoon about it, perfect for regaining freshness before plunging back into the energy of the peninsula.
There's also a light-filled fitness room open to the vegetation, where you can work out in an almost meditative spirit: WaterRower wooden equipment, non-motorized treadmills that follow your body's movements, silent bikes and a gentle gym zone for yoga or pilates. Here, everything encourages natural effort, without constraint or overkill, a sporting version of the Sibuet philosophy, focused on simplicity, beauty and fairness.

After taking a dip in the sublime swimming pool, surrounded by red-cushioned deckchairs in a setting worthy of the finest romantic films on the Côte d'Azur, head to the bottom of the garden, where a few steps lead up to the spa.

Imagined as a secret grotto, the wellness area features two treatment rooms, one of which is a double, and a hammam. Sleek and modern, the massage rooms feature a menu led by 100% natural products from American brand Tata Harper, as well as the skincare range from French brand Aime. Body and facial rituals are based on detox, nutrition, glow, lift and after-sun formulas, ideal after a tanning session. 3. Hôtel Byblos, a legendary spa hotel in Saint-Tropez
The pitch? Built by the wealthy Lebanese Jean-Prosper Gay-Parra as a "palace worthy of the Thousand and One Nights", the Byblos was intended to seduce Brigitte Bardot, with whom he was in love. In vain. She did not attend the inauguration in May 1967, but did agree to be the godmother of the Caves. Four months later, the Six-Day War forced the businessman to sell his hotel, which was then acquired by Sylvain Floirat, whose group still owns it. For decades, this legendary establishment has cultivated a spirit that is at once family and showbiz, secret and select, chic and casual. In June 2012, it joined the exclusive circle of French palaces, and today remains one of the most beautiful hotels in Saint-Tropez.

What's the hotel like? Just a stone's throw from Place des Lices, but out of sight, the Byblos resembles a small Provencal village with ochre facades. The squares, where a fountain sings, and the gardens are enlivened by steles, fragments of Roman mosaics and an ancient door from the catacombs of Palmyra. Enlarged in the '80s, with the addition of a hamlet, the hotel now boasts 39 rooms and 47 suites with views. Each room has its own Mediterranean flair, with a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings, precious fabrics and colorful motifs. In addition to the Missoni Home Suite, a luxurious 180m2 suite dressed in the Italian fashion house's cult textiles, the 5-star hotel boasts four suites designed by interior architect Laura Gonzalez. Known and recognized for her style, Laura Gonzalez, inspired by the magical colors of Saint-Tropez and the fascinating aura of the Byblos, has explored all the harmonies of color, the nobility of materials... to bring her signature to these new suites.

At lunchtime, we sit down on the terrace of the B. Lounge. Executive Chef Nicola Canuti offers a menu that sublimates the flavors of the South, featuring produce from the Byblos' agroecological vegetable garden. In the evening, at Il Giardino restaurant, guests can enjoy dishes that capture the original, authentic flavors of Italy under the vines, before heading up for a nightcap at the hotel's new rooftop bar: the Sky Bar. A fourth restaurant on Pampelonne beach, Byblos Beach, offers dishes prepared with the finest produce from local market gardeners, farmers and fishermen.
What's the spa like? The 450m2 Spa is adorned with rare marble and precious woodwork, inviting you to experience a new dimension of beauty and well-being. Before each ritual, performed in one of the 5 treatment rooms, you'll discover the world of Eaux Rêvées, an interlude between sauna, hammam and the Cascade, a new area with three sensory showers.

For the face, we like the Sisley Phyto-Aromatique Jeunesse Repulpant à la Rose treatment, which leaves the features smoothed and reveals the skin's radiance. Another facial option: the Sublimateur Lift Coréen, a treatment exclusive to Byblos, in partnership with SeeMyCosmetics. A misting system diffuses plant stem cells combined with active boosters to deeply moisturize. To accentuate disconnection and refocus on the self, the Byblos spa also offers the holistic experiences of the Les Constellés program: introspective workshops around Reïki, Sound Baths, Breathwork and Thai osteo, for a total body reset that realigns energies with awareness. In addition, yoga classes to suit individual rhythms and energies, and Les Épopées, 4 one-day individual retreats around Air, Earth, Fire and Water, featuring a 1.5-hour holistic treatment, a one-hour beauty treatment and lunch at the B. Lounge.

Opening onto the small beach of the same name, this legendary Tropezian house has welcomed many celebrities, including Françoise Sagan, Romy Schneider, Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. In charge since 2021, Hubert and Nicolas Saltiel, in association with hotelier Georges Saier, have given it a new look.
What's the hotel like? Interior designer Fabrizio Casiraghi has kept the spirit, combining a taste for La Dolce Vita and idleness, with the roll of the waves in the background. The 21 rooms of this spa hotel in Saint-Tropez, including 5 suites, bear the names of illustrious visitors. Like Provencal interiors, they are adorned here with fabrics by Loro Piana and Pierre Frey, there with original lithographs by Picasso, and the floors are sometimes covered with terracotta tiles. Open all year round, La Ponche's restaurant offers inventive, southern-inspired cuisine under the leadership of chef Thomas Danigo.

What's the spa like? The wellness area has teamed up with La Mer, which owes its reputation to the regenerative properties of the giant algae found throughout its range. The spa offers exclusive, customized treatments such as Soin liftant, a sculpting protocol that targets facial contours and décolleté, and boosts collagen production. And also the Soin Marée Détox, a ritual inspired by lymphatic drainage that provides an immediate sensation of lightness. 7. La Ferme d'Augustin
The pitch? Just a stone's throw from Tahiti beach, this atypical Saint-Tropez spa hotel combines luxury, authenticity and well-being. In the 1950s, Augustin, the grandfather of owner Christophe Vallet, opened his table to visiting guests. A few celebrities even spent the night. Enlarged in 1978 by Augustin's daughter Ninette, this family home, taken over by Christophe, is the first hotel whose swimming pool is equipped with a system that sublimates the water by hyperionization.

What's the hotel spa like? Set in the middle of a garden, the 4-star hotel, a member of the Authentic Hotels & Cruises collection, has 46 rooms and suites with sober Provencal decor. Throughout the building, Salerno tiles, rustic family furniture, antiques and 500 antique paintings create a Mediterranean ambience. For lunch and dinner, the chef prepares healthy, gourmet cuisine using produce from the vegetable garden and fish from the bay, accompanied by olive oil and wine from the estate.
Exclusive? Equipped with hydromassage jets, the pool is filled with Sublio hyperionic water. Thanks to a sophisticated closed-circuit technology, the minerals in the city's water, enriched with gold, selenium, zinc and germanium, are polyfragmented in a reactor. Treated in this way, sublimated water promotes skin rejuvenation and cell regeneration, as attested by the results of biological and genomic studies. From the very first 20-minute immersion, skin feels softer and more hydrated.

What's the spa like? A little bubble of softness, where Catherine Cerezo, founder of the Geneva institute La Maison Fleurs de Coton, offers a variety of massages, in particular highly specialized, made-to-measure facial treatments, in partnership with the Olivier Claire range. And for the body, the Renata Franca method.
